As an Australian who lived in Greece and Scotland for 30 years....Now that I am back in Australia , this is what I miss about Europe. The history, the character and the wealth of knowledge one can acquire from these trips. Life is comfortable here but not so interesting. Thank you Mamiko for helping us all travel through France

I'm originally from Australia now living in Canada for over 30 yrs. I went to London and Paris in 2006 and that was what I loved about both places, the antiquity, it was like going back in time. So many amazing ancient buildings and sculptures, etc. It's a completely different feeling than living in a Western country that is not that old in it's history. I loved those cities so much, I would love to go again one day.
I really enjoyed this video. I purchased two varieties of les Anis de Flavigny during a trip to Paris. I love learning the story behind this great candy company. The packaging descriptions was lovely to hear.
I did not know the anise candies were from this village. I was given them as a present by a friend who was coming back from a tour of France many years ago. I love the anise candies with their beautiful tins - must go get them myself some day. Thanks for the lovely video.

What a lovely old stone village. It was very quiet with no people about. When you entered the old church and I saw the stained glass, I realized that was the only color we had seen up until then as everything was just the color of the stone. The candy factory at least was colorful. It looks like a lot of people live there. I wonder what they do for a living. I can't help but wonder what their houses look like inside. I think it's interesting that the guides speak to you in English, kind of assuming that you don't speak French but since you are studying it, I assume you do. Perhaps they speak a different dialect there. Anyway, it was lovely to see such an old town.

Hi Mamiko, I love your vlog, discovering France with you when we cannot travel so freely between countries is wonderfull. Keep up the good job! By the way, I read the other day that during the French revolution there was a law that stated that all religious statues and those that represented kings and queens had to be decapitated.. I guess this is why in the church some of the heads were missing. 😉🥰
