Leaving St. Barnabus church at Queen Camel for a 57 mile bike ride in South Somerset visiting 4 Ancient churches. Finished at dusk with fish & chips on Bridgwater station before a train home to Bath. #cycletour #champing #churches
After 20 years of living in France I still miss the English parish churches. Most villages here have a church but due to the revolution and two wars fought on the land many are relatively modern. Nice in their way but lack the feel you get from an English village church. Those four were all very nice and each quite different. May I ask what you do about securing your bike when inside looking around? Take a chance or chain it up? I thought it was Halloween with the mushroom scene.😃 Thanks for sharing your trip.
