I'm prior service army. MOS: 13F. Wanting to re-enlist. Rotary wing aviator has been whispering to me for years XD I've flown 500 hours in simulation and NEVER failed. Literally have a natural talent for rotary attack craft. Clear out the enemy insurgent strong hold? Roger. Weapons hot. About 10 minutes later. Estimate 300 casualties. Report: small arms, LMGs mounted and rocket propelled grenades.

Nicely done. Seriously. Now for the joke. Do they issue you guys the extra cover to leave on your desk, or do they make you buy that for the packing list?

They issue you nothing more. Would be sure you want to be career to make it a career. You're commitment won't start until you graduate flight school...10 years can turn into 12 really fast. Also being a wo1 for 4 years sucks.

I went through with class 98-01 in November of 1997. It was a lot different back then. We were “hazed” for almost 24 hours straight. It took that long to cross the street from reception to 1st WOCC. We had quite a few drop out that first night, including several senior NCOs.

To be fair, there's some warrants that went before your time that probably called your candidate school easy. Don't be so rough on a changing Army as we don't have the "go to war or go to jail" incentive anymore.
@ArtofFreeSpeech
@ArtofFreeSpeech 9 месяцев назад
@@TxInfinity Oh, there ABSOLUTELY were and I knew them personally.... and we KNEW we had it easy compared to them. And I was a TAC officer at WOCS, at my candidates had it easier than me, and these dudes all have it easier than my candidates had it. It's a shame it's become so dumbed down. Hard schools are hard for a reason. There SHOULD be a sense of accomplishment when you finish.

@@ArtofFreeSpeechsense of accomplishment is not a reason to make a school hard. Making a school hard should serve the purpose of making the candidate better prepared and more proficient in their craft. If it's not doing that, it's just being difficult for the sake of being difficult, and that's idiotic.

The new military and the lowered standards to get accepted. Giving rank out like candy for 21 years now. Having to promote substandard pretend soldiers now adays. Not good!
@JimmySpaceandtheLegionnaires
@JimmySpaceandtheLegionnaires 9 месяцев назад
Could also be that most of the first stringers from GWOT got out because of the toxic environment so the bulk of the NCO ranks are currently staffed by the people who were passed over for promotion two or three times and only got the billet because of attrition. Could be that.

I’ve seen all 3 compos and sometimes the AD ones are the heaviest. It’s all about personal accountability, pride, and motivation. If you don’t have all 3 you’ll surely suffer.

And a great big welcome to YOUR (modern day) U.S. Army--and Have a Great Army Day (and beat Navy tomorrow also) Hopefully the next administration to sit, btw once again, in the White House can begin to first stop the downward spiral of an unrecoverable flat spin that our U.S. military is quickly becoming and begin to re-build it in much the same way that President Ronald Reagan was able to with the mess of a military establishment that Jimmy Carter handed him back in 1980.
