My partner had 3 of her friends drive down last weekend. Spent 4 hours walking around and got back in their car and all drove 8 hours back home saying it was a disgrace.

Get a grip. 95% of New Zealanders are going about their lives like nothing is happening. We have enjoyed music festivals and going out to restaurants and bars. Then there's these twits making a scene even tho they new months ago that mandates were only a temporary measure. But though making arses of themselves was a good idea. The vast vast majority of kiwis dont support these people and are enjoying their freedoms.
I'm not in a position to join the protest in Wellington but I've started my own 'lie-flat' movement. The government wants to take away my freedom so I've decided to comply to the extreme. Since September 2021 I have refused to be a part of the NZ economy. I only spend on the bare minimum for survival and sure I still need to pay tax on my salary, but other than that not a single more cent of my money will end up in the government's pocket. You might say this is only hurting the businesses but this is just my reaction to the government's actions. I'm I doing my best to comply and will do my part to make the economy to come to a grinding halt.
For too long this govt has ignored the mental health crisis in this country. Perhaps this protest will finally show them how desperate the situation is…
