Glad there is grounding minds and traditions out there in our world. :) I think many elders should share what they have seen and learned in life.

These progressive mental afflictions (diseases) show us the lack of mental and emotional depth we generally have arrived at in the west. The only way to correct it, long term, is to commit to changing everything about our life views and experiences. Arriving at that commitment is the key. Not everyone gets there. The suffering of our current condition has to become greater than the idea of changing the very nature of how we think. We've all known people who just couldn't find the want, the desire, or the confidence to accept that there are other ways of being and thinking that are available. Also, there may simply be people who, by way of generational compounding of experience, are not capable of change. Like an animal that has acquired legs where their species had none further back in their history, they can't simply shed them by willing them away. The more we culturally deny the value of emotional and mental health over time, the less likely a person can relearn a way out. If it took generations to develop an issue, it probably will take generations to correct it. The best some people can do is not cause more harm, allowing the next generation to take up the work from there. It takes a good deal of selflessness and courage.

I thought it was necessary to correct his statement. There are many people who are disgusted at what the Dalai Lama has been doing over the years. Let me ask you a question, who cares that someone DOES love the Dalai Lama?

wow, people speak a lot to say very little, the female speakers took around half an hour to say something they could've said in 10 minues.

Nice. You can't use insults to win an argument. It's ok to have an opinion but when you act like that you lose the respect of everyone. I wasn't looking for an answer to my question. It was just a demonstration of why I think your logic is flawed. You ask who cares about my opinion, I ask why my opinion isn't as important as his.
