YoungK, who is their main lyricist, once said in an interview that he always carefully write the lyrics using everyday expressions so more people can relate to them. I guess that's why their song's meaning are easy to understand. Also, you are one very consistent guy, you keep pointing out Wonpil (the keyboardist) and Sungjin (the raspy guy) as your favourite voices from start to finish 👏👏👏
Omg the guy's voice you like is Wonpil on the keyboard, and the raspy voice is Sungjin. The vocals in this group are insane I personally love Wonpil's so much
Zombie had such an impact on me and my roommate at the time it came out. We were both in college just struggling to take it day by day and having this song as an anthem really made us feel like it wasn't just us and we weren't alone. Definitely one of their best tracks. The English version also has different but just as great lyrics.
What is up with wonpil snatching everyone's soul just by the first listen? Same thing happened to me lol. Like when I heard his voice I was like damn!! Day6 are so talented. Like their vocals are so GOOD and their songs it self are so beautiful.
Yay! Next, you should watch "What Can I Do", "I Loved You", "When You Love Someone" & "All Alone". Watch them in that order because all the mvs are connected & it's like a mini kdrama lol
Fun fact, 2017 they did the EveryDay6 project where they released 2 songs a month with a MV for the title track and a B-side. All of which are great songs and created two albums Sunrise and Moonrise. YoungK was very busy that year. His lyrics make me wonder if he has had a successful relationship
My theory for the You Make Me mv is that the wound is metaphorical and the scene where he passes out is actually him passing away. And the rest of the mv is like a last dream or whatever that's called. Like you see the mv suddenly gets brighter after that scene and everything is like "fine now" and they're happy as if nothing happened. Just my 2 cents.
my theory is the song is being sung from the perspective of the girl. Once the guy is gone she is walks into the ocean; shown by the single set of footprints that look like her boots, and is swallowed by the ocean or by love like the album is titled.
The reason for Junhyeok's departure from the group is still not fully known but in addition to the dating ban theory is the added bit that he may have been dating a fan. regardless, he's now active as a soloist in both Korea and Japan. Jae essentially left because he was sick of the idol life. he had been on a hiatus before for mental health issues but eventually took his leave. He now makes music under the name eaJ in America and has been releasing semi-regular singles over the past few months. Jae, Sungjin, Young K, Wonpil, and even Dowoon have been named as main vocalist by Jae, though Dowoon doesn't sing as much as the others. Young K is the primary lyricist for all their music, along with the other members, who contribute to production and lyrics with their in-house main producer Hong Ji-sang as well as Lee Woo-min (others too but those are the most prevalent). Sungjin got back from the military last September, Young K got back in March or April, and Dowoon+Wonpil are coming back in the next few months. Young K has been doing solo performances since he got back, and Sungjin has been a radio host. You Make Me is the title track from their most recent album (The Book of Us: Negentropy~ Swallowed up in Chaos), though they have a subunit called Day6: Even of Day (or just Even of Day). EoD released their latest album (Right Through Me) in september of 2021 and a special single last december (though it unfortunately wasn't released on streaming services). Young K debuted as a soloist in September of 2021 as well with a mini album (Eternal), Dowoon debuted as a soloist with a single that same month, and Wonpil debuted as a soloist in February 2022 with a studio album (Pilmography). Some songs from Day6 with like music video type things I recommend Title Tracks -Time of Our Life -Days Gone By -Letting Go -I'm Serious -Where the Sea Sleeps (Even of Day) -Right Through Me (EoD) -Guard You (Young K) -Voiceless (Wonpil) Other -"I'll Try" Live Video -"Better Better" Live Video -Pacman (Jae) -Car Crash (Jae) -88rising online concert eaJ highlights (Pacman, 50 Proof, Zombie) (Jae) -Come As You Are (Young K) -"Microphone" Live Clip (Young K ft. Dvwn) -"goodnight, dear" Live Clip (Young K with Jukjae) -"Fly Me To the Moon" YOUNGONE (Frank Sinatra cover) (Young K) -"A journey" Live Video (Wonpil) -Out of the Blue (Dowoon & Song Heejin) -"She's Gone" (Steelheart Cover) (Jae & Young K) If you're looking through MVs of theirs and are confused by exactly where all of them fit in, Day6 debuted with The Day (title track: Congratulations) in 2015, then their first comeback was Daydream (title track: Letting Go), then after that they began a project called "Every Day6" where they released a single every month, consisting of one A-Side (title track, MV) and one B-side, every month of 2017 except June and December, when they released a studio album with all the previous releases plus 2 new songs and some versions of songs off their first two albums. after that, they returned to normal kinds of releases. I also highly recommend you to check out their Japanese music (one studio album plus like 3 other singles), I know it can't easily go on youtube but whether on patreon or just on your own, their Japanese discography is really good and shows a bit of a more rock vibe than a lot of their Korean releases. Yeah I think that's it pardon my uh, essay
Wow finally Day6. 🎉 They are my #1. You can't beat their discography and vocals. All of them have a distinct tone and bring so much into the band. I am sad that Jae/eaJ has left but I am hopeful he will join again to give us a tour.
Obviously their all title songs are banger because they write their own songs play instruments and sing incredibly as well. Thank you for checking out them and please check their albums too. Their albums always have stories. They have Everyday6 project which they released 2songs every month for a year. They have The book of Us series albums and Youth part 1 and 2. So about the last song, You make me, this is the last OT5 member songs before some members got enlisted and the last part of The book of us Series. Some members went through mental issues during this time and some members have to be enlisted and Jay decided to leave Day6 so a lot things happened. That’s why I kinda have a feeling that members wanted to express their love and thankfulness to fandom as the last part of “The book of Us” series.
Day6 is one of my ults I'm so glad you enjoyed them! Day6 is one of the few groups where I love their whole discography and they have so many albums. Sungjin was raspy voice and although he's not my bias he's my favorite Day6 vocalist. Wonpil is the other one you like his vocals are just heavenly. Young K vocals are incase especially live bc he likes to play around with his voice and he has a solo. Jae left recently but his vocals are so unique and his solo songs even before he left the group are crazy. They're just a amazing vocals all around. And as us fans and Day6 like to say before Jae left "Day6 has 5 vocalists" although Dowoon originally doesn't sing and isn't a singer he has sang a few times in Day6 songs and those songs immediately make it the best ones bc he's singing in it like he has been trying to hard by taking vocal lessons we love when he sings. Junhyeok unfortunately left very early bc he broke the dating ban rule which I understand you shouldn't break a rule especially so early but its also sad that they even have such a rule but he's doing well currently. Day6 again has some of the best discography and there is so must history about them I can't get into it all but a few facts Young K writes all Day6 songs (who hurt him) and all of Day6 are pretty active and friends with majority of JYP artists both current and ex. A few artists that are close with all Day6 members is Jinyoung of Got7, Jackson Wang, and Jamie (aka Day6s little sister)
I like them after listening to Zombie but You Make Me is my ultimate favorite. The vocals in that song are very heavenly. I think I need to check out their albums. I only know three songs, tbh.
Day6 is known for their vast collection of genres, so you are def in for a wonderful adventure, getting to know them. And yes, your Wonpil is Wonpil. 😂
Zombie came out during the pandemic, I think it was a song that spoke to a lot of people who were struggling during that time. I myself related to it because of my own struggles with mental health. Hoping you'll continue to react to Day6! During the Everyday6 project, they had so many bangers which made up the albums Sunrise and Moonrise. Every month, I had something new from them. I reccomend Sweet Chaos, What Can I Do, You Were Beautiful and Time of Our Life. If you wanna check out some of their B-sides, my favourites are 1 to 10 and Feeling Good,
Finally!! Im waiting for this for a looongggg time You should watch every mv, cover especially their live perform. I promise you'll never dissapoint!!! Love from myday OT5 🌿💚
I'm goinna make it simple,Day6 is AMAZING,you can also check: You were beautiful,I wait,Letting Go,Sweet Chaos,Days gone by,How can I say,I smile and more they have a really good discography +they also have a subunit (Even of day) so you can check does songs and also a lot of solos and cover stuff witch are also wonderful. The future of the band is kinda uncertain now,Young K is doing military service (and he is also the main lyricist of the group) so will see when he comes, also Jay is pretty much still in the band from what I know just not in Jyp anymore so hopefully we will see them again as 5 at some point. The guy with a very unique voice you liked is Wonpil, the keyboardist
my suggestions by DAY6 blood colors stop man in a movie zombie (english version) The Book of Us: The Demon is a awesome album reminds me of GOT7 album Spinnig Top. common words anxiety and depression.
You'll get to know day6 once you listen to their bsides because they are AMAZING. Day6 has such an amazing discography. My favorite albums are The book of us: Entropy & The Demon. Just for information, they have a sub unit called Even Of Day formed by Young K, Wonpil & Dowoon. Also, Young K & Wonpil have solo albums you definitely should check out! So happy with you reaction and I'm glad you liked them! Thank you.
There are english versions to Congratulations and Zombie. You liked Sunjin (more raspy voice) Wonpil (higher vocals, great falsetto) in Congratulations! Both are fantastic. The actor in Congratulations who had his girlfriend cheating on him is Choi Wooshik, V's friend and actor in the Oscar winning Parasite. If you like K bands then this band is a really good choice to get into.
If you loved the Lyric you will love to Know that they write they're own songs, mostly Young K who is one of the kpop idols with most author credits, He even makes songs for other idols (for example XdinaryHeroes, etc)m
Ohh yes thank you so much for checking out Day6... They are phenomenal and you'll definitely enjoy their music.... Please react to -"I wait " , Sweet Chaos and Love me or leave me next!
Day6!! Love them, and can't wait for their comeback. Wonpil is one of my favorite so try to check out his solo album, Pilmography. Voiceless, which is the lead single is a chart topper!
FINALLY A DAY6 REACTION! And please check all the members' solo music. All 5 of them have except for Sungjin coz he doesn't have a solo debut yet. I bet you'll love Wonpil's PILmography Album.
Very excited for your DAY6 journey that band is so underrated and you've got a lot of videos to watch because they did a comeback a month for a whole year once upon of time. Get ready to be in your feels friend. I'd personally like to recommend Letting Go, Time of Our Life, I Wait, and How Can I Say.
Youngk writes everything with wonpil sometimes The vocalist u liked is wonpil The high notes guy is youngk Raspy voice is sungjin Also Congratulations english version is crazy too Recs are really hard with Day6 their songs never disappoint but i’ll list a few: Sweet chaos, Somehow, days gone by, letting go, best part Some are bsides but you’ll find live that will be ok on RU-vid.
Honestly, I always got scared when ppl watched You Make Me MV lmaooo bc its kinda weird like 'huh? wait what?' Cause some ppl focused more on the MV story rather than the music n voices:"
Actually i like english version lyrics more for zombie qnd even for congratulations and you are beautiful i like the English version more.. I forgot 1 more song that i really love I need someone the live performance mv dammnnn good.. Waitttt For Me lyrics also damn good..
Literally all of their songs are amazing, best band fr😭 but my favs that you should check out are I Wait, Time of Our Life, Sweet Chaos, days gone by, what can I say, I Need Somebody
if you're willing to get your heart ripped out, listen to "i need somebody". it's a bside but one of their most famous songs because of how raw and emotional it is about the concept of loneliness.
Wait until you heard their b-sides! they easily have one of the bests discography in kpop! you will also love Wonpil's solo projects such as Unpainted Canvas and A Journey! I hope you could see more of them, thank you so much for this video! 🧡
OMG finally. Thank you so so much RJ. They are so good, we always say that Day6 don't have a bad song, and believe me they don't. In The rap verse from Congratulation was Young k. And just saying because i am not sure if you read it on the profiles ahahahah but their fandom name is MyDay Please react to i wait and I need somebody (this is one of my favorite tracks by them). P.S. And maybe you know Young K and Jae from the dive studio with erick nam.
The one that you love is the keyboardist / synthesizer of the group, Wonpil! He comeout with full solo album before enlisting to military (Young K too, he comeout with a solo mini album), you can check it out! Also the one that have raspy voice, Sungjin, the leader of the group! Right now only Sungjin and Young K already finished the military service, next will be Dowoon in July and lastly Wonpil on Nov this year! Can’t wait for their first comeback after military as a four member group!
day6's discography is truly flawless! they're a timeless band that has music for every mood or emotion and it makes me so proud to be a fan :D they're fantastic performers too, if you have time you should definitely check out shoot me's live performance. they really know how to hype up a crowd! it's so hard to give song recommendations because i feel like you really understand day6's "sound" once you go through their entire discography, but since you like wonpil and sungjin's voices i think you would enjoy: - like a flowing wind (originally a song by wonpil) - afraid (originally a song by sungjin, the demo version is amazing) - still - stop talking - so let's love (a personal favourite) - first time (another favourite) - letting go rebooted (just an all around amazing song, one of their best bridges) wonpil also has a solo album which he largely wrote and produced, it's called 'pilmography' and has a lot of amazing songs. sungjin's solo album is coming soon and youngk (the other vocalist) also has a solo album named eternal. sungjin is the leader and the band formed because of him, really beautiful voice and just such a delight to hear him sing. youngk has written most of their songs and has an amazing vocal range, he's also in my opinion the best performer in day6, his harmonisations and background vocals in both recorded tracks and live shows add sooo much to their songs. dowoon is the most musically proficient member, he has a music degree and has played the drums for more than a decade! i really like his style of drumming because he's so attentive to detail and plays very emotionally. he has also released a single where he sings and plays at the same time, he also has a lot of one-liners in day6 songs that have a special charm because of his deep voice :) i could praise them for hours (if you couldn't tell) but i'll just add one last thing, day6's music has many many genres and i feel the title tracks don't do them justice. entropy, their second full album, is one of the most insane albums i've ever, ever seen, they had a songwriting camp for a couple of weeks where they just wrote, wrote, wrote and made songs for this album which resulted in a 11-track masterpiece! it has la metal, bossa nova, shoegaze, punk rock and so much more. 'remember us: youth part 2' has a lot of retro bangers, especially the synthpop title 'days gone by' (super nostalgic and lovely music video too). entropy is also part of their 'the book of us' series which is a beautiful story about human emotions and love. gravity, entropy, demon, and negentropy are the albums part of it, each are absolutely beautiful in their own ways. now since this series is over i'm really curious as to which direction they'll go in next. they'll be back from their hiatus (due to enlistment) in november, i'm so excited to get new music from them :) i really hope you listen to more of their music, discovering them was one of the best things that happened to me :D
"What Can I Do", "I Loved You", "When You Love Someone" and "All Alone" are all one storyline. tho all alone is sort of a mv just compiled with all the moments from the previous three vids so you don't totally have to react to that one together with the others, maybe you could just throw in you were beautiful and react to those four together as that song is connected to congratulations. but the first three are a story so you should definitely check them out in order plus it's june and there's a LITTLE subtle gay in the storyline.
Yay you're checking out Day6!! I love their music so much please react to their MV trilogy "What Can I Do?", "I Loved You", and "When You Love Somebody", and also All Alone as is kind of connected to these 3 MVs
You should check their trilogy MVs "What Can I Do" , "I Loved You", and "When You Love Someone". Also, their EVERYDAY6 Project, it's a monthly release of 2 songs in 2017, and their THE BOOK OF US series. It's a series of albums consisting "TBOS: Gravity", "TBOS: Entropy", "TBOS: The Demon", "TBOS: Gluon" and "TBOS: Negentropy". Not only these but their live performances well huhuh sorry for recommending a lot coz they're so very talented.
these are my favorites that you should definitely check out, even if it’s not on a video. they’re crazily good!!!! i love day6 so much 1. i wait 2. you were beautiful 3. i need somebody 4. i like you
Oof there is soooooo much Day6 on my playlist their discography is AMAZING. Zombie is still one of my absolute favorites in terms of songs. It got me through a lot. And Congratulations is one of my favorite debut songs EVER.
bro i love their music. you should listen to I’ll Try. its just…. its soooo good. and Wonpil wrote the lyrics with his mom in mind😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 its a gut wrencher
Better late than never :) Day6, the no skip discography. Their B-sides will blow yr mind away :) Day6 not only create great songs for themselves but fr others too (Jamie, H1-key, Baek A Yeon etc)
Oh, yeah, I fell in love with Wonpil’s voice first. The first song I heard from them was I wait and his voice in the beginning ? Yeaaaaah. I should advise you to watch their lives and if you like Wonpil’s voice, know he wrote a song dedicated to his mother and a WONDERFUL LIVE version exists of this song called I’ll try. Seriously I won’t spoil but you will love it if you like their voices
So its been 2 years since You make me came out and the hypothesis is that the guy died (the lighting changes when they're at the gas station) and maybe that was his after life and he wanted to be with her (but it was confusing for many of us when it came out lol). And yes originally DAY6 had 6 members, Junhyeok left like 4 months after their debut and Jae left on Jan 1st 2022. Right now Sungjin and Young K are out of the military and we're waiting on Dowoon (July) and Wonpil (November). They debuted a subunit called Even of Day with Young K, Wonpil and Dowoon, because at the time Jae and Sungjin were on a hiatus for mental health reasons (right before Zombie came out). Wonpil and Young K also have solo albums and Dowoon has that one single. Can wait to see you react to more DAY6!! :)
This are some interpretations to You Make Me (i'm takin this quite seriously HAHAHAHA) - The Guy has wound, but he doesn't show it to his GF - They went with car and you can see a scene where he's trying to hold his pain and the car swung side to side... -> some theorize that they actually had a car crash and the guy eventually died. - Then you'll see a beach scene (where the song came off for a while), there's actually a footstep on the sand (made by boots) that ends near the sea -> The girl use boots (you can see it around the 0-1 mins). This scene somewhat showing that the girl took his life to follow the guy into the afterlife.. it's because he's the only one in her life, her only last ray of hope, her only shining light.. she doesn't want to let go of him (which stated in the main chorus lyrics). - The lyrics also said "Please hold onto me, being alive is scary and tough, But I can push through as long as I have your love".. this clearly said that if they don't have each other, they can't make it through. After the beach scene... the guy wake up and saw the girl crying beside him. You can see the "glowy" figures/filter around them.. which is different with the scene before the car crash (which is dry in tone). Somewhat indicating that they already on the afterlife. They went to get some fun.. with Day6's member watching them from afar (same as the intro of the music video). In the end of the video, day6's member no longer saw the couple on the beach, and they smiled. Some said that in the MV, day6 member represents the reaper/angel of death??? idk I just went through the MV Comment section and conclude it like this hhahaha.
