Also, have you seen all the commentary about the music video? It starts with the girl firing off at him, and then everybody blinding joining in the fight. BUT, when he fires back he doesn't shoot bullets at the people attacking him, but is firing pretty colors and confetti. A lot of people have been talking about how the whole MV is about returning hate and harsh words with something better, rather than returning fire with bullets of your own.
My friend told me that some people said that its about the girl's words hurting him while his words doesn't hurt her. Which is why her bullets (words) hurt him so much but when he fires his bullets (words) it turns into confetti and paint because his words doesn't affect her. But whatever this music video is about, Day6 is amazing uwu
Omg the structure breakdown looks like a frickin rainbow. I admire Day6 for using so many sounds and textures and build ups without making the song feel lost and too stacked like that’s some real talent there...there voices are heavenly, the aesthetic is heavenly and I’m in LOVE with their rock side. They nail it every frickin time
I feel super validated hearing you say that 1) this is quite a new style for them and 2) you didnt immediately love it like usual - that was my reaction too but it felt bad that i didnt love it like everyone else seemed to... I think I like everything except the chorus, though I cant really explain exactly why. Its cool to know the 'gun' sound is a snare though! That sound, the entire bridge, and the guitar outro are my fav parts for sure
See to me that first verse doesn't feel reggae, it has a stripped back rock feel. It might be because a lot of the music I listen to other than kpop is rock/punk/etc, but to me I thought from the very start it was building to a really strong, almost heavy rock sound - which is, of course, where the chorus went. It made a lot of sense to me I guess, but that might just be because it's what I'm used to listening to.
Yeah same here I'm also used to listening to rock music that's why i kinda know about the progression of the whole song. And I love it since i think it's new for Day6. This is the 'heaviest' rock they've done so far after How Can I Say. 😊
Yeah same here, I listened to a lot of rock and alternative and it felt very normal and expected, but in a good way of course. Probably why I absolutely love it and is one of my favorite title tracks from them.
Sarah Jalotjot Yeah same here, their Everyday6 series really brought out different sides of them I loved it. I really love how they don’t just stick to hard hitting rock and go through so many genres too
I'm not MyDay but I like some of Day6's songs, and Shoot Me is just... aMAZING. I'm freaking addicted to this song, I LOVE IT. (Yes, I'm a fan of hard rock, metal and that stuff xd). Also I have to say that I Need Somebody is the bopest song of Day6, bye.
omg YES I Need Somebody and Shoot Me are 2 of my favorite songs by DAY6 now. Besides Congratulations of course, which is probably not as hype objectively but it carries so much nostalgia for me because I discovered DAY6 through that song when the MV only had a couple thousand views ;_;
renman hause I have already listened to a lot of their songs but I don't really like them. Although I know the members' names and I always listen to their comebacks. I could say that I'm a Day6 supporter xd (also my friend is MyDay and she always recommends me songs)
@@flannalf How can you not like their song? They don't have any bad songs. I suggest you have to check their entire album, not just the title track. And you will realize how good they are
The most anticipated reaction of all! Been waiting for this. Love how you dig every part (which normal listeners like us who know nothing about music will never notice ) and highlighting the artistic side of these boys. When you said that this is something new, I think it is. It really is and that's what makes the song amazing.
Thank you for your reaction ! I know this comment won't have a lot of likes so you won't probably see it, but i would *really* want a reaction to Drug Restaurant - Mistake. The musicians are really good and the vocalist... Just, listen to it. Even if you don't react to it. But the singer, (Jung Joon Young) did a lot of show, for example the Immortal Songs where he sings really beautifully, so maybe the Classical Vocalists ?
Also is it just me or does it have a very Fall Out Boy (and maybe more recent P!ATD songs??) sound to it? The bridge is very similar to FOB's Centuries
Thank you for the reaction! I was waiting cause I was curious what you have to say about it. I actually was overwhelmed listening to this song first time. There are so many things going on and it's definitely something new to DAY6. Yet, Shoot Me is such an addictive bop! I've been listening to this on repeat and can't get it out of my head. I think it's a great choice for a title track. It shows their ability to experiment and discover new sounds. The whole album have somewhat similar vibe going on and feels complete. Great video as always, Umu, thank you!
Thanks for the review, Umu. It's so detailed. I like how you breakdown the parts, it's easier to follow. Btw nice hat! It's so cute. Also, i just realize about it now but i love your singing voice! Maybe you can make a cover song sometime, when you have free time of course 😅
12:21 Her- “the most angsty song from the past that i can think of is like-“ Me- “i need someone. my angsty bop. my shi-“ Her- “how can i say” Me- *snaps head in phones direction* “what”
Thank you for the reaction umu and thank you too for the musical explanation ! ! ! I really love it, you have worked hard and dont forget to take some rest 🤟🏻🔫
This is what I like with this channel. The video is not just a reaction but also a musical analysis to Kpop songs and for me this gives the songs more depth and meaning to the viewers and fans. MORE POWER!
Shoot me and Just Happened are my faves from the album, but I think it's because I used to listen to hard rock music before I listened to Kpop. In all, I LOVE Day6 and their music
Okay, seriously I love how passionate and in-depth you are in your reactions. And the fact that you’re taking courses outside of your normal preferences in order to broaden your understanding of the various genres of music is so beyond admirable. You’re quickly becoming one of my favorite RU-vidrs, and not just as a k-pop reaction channel, but as a creator of interesting, thought out, and entertaining content. Please keep on doing what you love and clearly have a talent for!
Wow this has been such a detailed and a really awesome breakdown of the new day6 sound. Your content is always so good and I love hearing about the music I listen to explained. I totally commend you for reacting and editing all these videos even when you’re tired. Great work umu
i love how you pointed out aspects that i had noticed though obviously with more understanding n also got me to discover new bits that i hadn't previously recognised ahhhh ur reactions are always The Best!! and god this is such a great song
I was so happy waiting for this reaction. As a vocalist (although I know about some instrument music theory vocal theory is my main focus) I could not handle the chromaticism in this song. My non music theory friends couldnt relate to my excitement, since I never expected something so theory driven! Ahhh so happy!
Loved your analysis, it's actually so interesting when you break it down. Have a good summer Umu and hope you enjoy ATLA, it's literally my favorite show of all time :)
idk anything about music but u explain in such a way that it all makes sense, even to me. i really love watching ur videos :') i loved this so much. thank u ❤
This was something I loved right away from first listen. I appreaciate your honesty, Umu, and your sincere love for Day6 :) This analysis was so detailed wow !!
See? This is why everyone was waiting for your reaction to this song. Thank you so much for your explanations. I appreciate your reaction so much ;; you're already a my day umu don't be afraid of admitting it lmao
Thank you soooooo much for reacting to their comeback, I was waiting for this!!!! I love you sooooo much for reacting to this. ❤️❤️❤️ One of my favorite bands, I love all their songs they really never fail to impress me. P. S. I really would appreciate it if you would react to N. Flying plz or to Hwe Seung (one of their vocalists) in king of masked singer plz. 🙏🏻
Thank you so much for this! As a person who's also studying music, I've always wanted to see a channel where K-pop music is analysed so I'm really happy and relieved to have found this channel. Your analysis is so detailed and there were so many things that I didn't notice in the song that you've noticed, hehe :P These kinds of videos make me realise how much effort and thought these artists have put into their music to convey a certain message to their listeners, therefore helping me and so many others appreciate their music more. Thank you once again, ahaha! :))
YAAASS FINALLY DAY6 SHOOT ME!!!!! :) BTW, I SUPER LOVE THIS CHANNEL. I BINGE WATCHED ALL THE VIDEOS FOR THE PAST 2 DAYS AND I MUST SAY I LOVE ALL OF YOUUUU! :)
Good for you for taking a rock history class and learning more about the drum kit. Btw, besides the high hat and ride cymbal there could be several splash cymbals, not just l&r, with varying sizes and tightness adjustments on their stands to affect how they resonate, from a cracking snap to wide open ringing. 70's prog rock and avant garde or jazz fusion drummers often used enormous kits including double kick drums, many toms, cymbals, gongs and an assortment of other percussion. If you're curious do an image search on guys like Alphonse Mouzon, Don Moye, Billy Cobham, Carl Palmer or Neil Peart for just a few examples.
This... Was super super interesting. I'm not lying when I say I waited for this video and I'm so not disappointed, because it's not only a reaction but a very detailed review as well. Really, thank you for this because it brings me to listen to songs in a new light and it's always always super interesting ! And, about what you were saying, it's totally a new style, and I quite like it, because yay ROCK ! (And i still don't know HOW you managed to put all those reactions in the lasst few days like WOW. Did you even sleep ?)
thank you so much for your reaction!! been waiting since the song came out tbh...always helps me hear stuff in the song that i would never notice otherwise. the first few times i listened to the song i didn't dig it, but something switched and the next day i listened to it like 5 times lmao idek why, Def not my fav day6 song but im down for it now
I have to say I prefer more this new way of you reviewing the songs; I like to see the song divided and what instruments/sounds conforms it, please keep it like this
thaanks for the reaction, this song has a lot of interesting musical elements that I think the classical musicians would absolutely enjoy,. Consider showing it to them :)
as a member of a band who has played around with all the instruments in a band, (except guitar im shit with guitar) i feel like the song the best display of perfect chemistry in a band composition. Everything just fit so well and complemented each other
UMU! MUCH APPRECIATE FOR EVERYTHING YOU'VE BEEN DOING! you're so cool really like woah i wish i can do something that i really into it .... anyway can you do a review of nuestw - dejavu? because i was very confused the first and second time i listened to it because i didnt know where was the chorus and prechorus and so on lol i guess you'll find this song interesting to review! thank you!
Hey Umu! I always love your videos so I would be so happy if you would react to Bang Yongguk. Either Portrait or Drunkenness! I've only just found these songs but they are *AMAZING* and deserve some serious recognition. I will say it would be a really different vibe to the usual videos you react to also DAY6 are kings pls stan
I just found you!!! I love day6 songs so much and I gotta check all your day6 reaction :) By the way, i would love if you do some reactions to 2PM. They are my bias group. My first suggestion is My House. It’s produced by Jun.K, one of 2PM members and he is my bias :)
