Shells are returned to the seabed as they get shucked. This is actually beneficial to the fishery as larval scallops attached by byssal thread and need a surface to do so. Scallop shells are the perfect substrate for that!!!

Nordic Fish sells the best seafood in Fairfield County, and one reason why is that Jardar has one foot in the sea and one on land.

Lol Suzy….. I’m from Connecticut and grew up in the Fulton Fish Market so I’ve never pronounced it with the proper dialect. I don’t know why but I just can’t get myself to say it “the right way”……..

@@thecatchwithjardar3529 It's a funny thing. It seems only some New Englanders pronounce it properly. I don't know why that is. It is one of the few words I get so wound up about. Scohllups....come on Jardar you can do it!!

I’ll be doing some more from Maine this summer. Hopefully I can correct this and pay proper homage to Bremen (“Bree-men”) which I pronounced “Bray-men”. Anyway it’s all a work in progress!!! Oh yeah and please subscribe!!! Thanks Suzy!!
