Allison, if you turn the piping bag down over itself so the inside is on the outside at the top it is easier to fill then roll the top back up. You learn something new every day. I’m over 60 and still learning. I love everything you do!

A tip for filling piping bags…put your bag nose down into a tall cup. Then fold the sides over the edges of the cup. Load in your frosting/meringue and use the top of the cup to scrape your spatula. This is waaay easier and provides stability for you!!

Hey girl!! For filling your piping bag, roll down the top of it (like you're going to turn it inside out, but don't go all the way!!). Then hold the piping bag in one hand (that inside out "lip" of the should be covering your hand!) and you can scrape your spatula without getting the outside/top of the bag messy!!

Tip: When filling the piping bag - place the bag in a tall glass or container and food the edges over. Makes it a lot easier to fill.

Baker's tip: next time dip your finger in the meringue batter, put in on the 4 corners of the tray and "stick" the baking paper ;) It will help the paper to not move! Sending warm hugs your way xx You truly make our days brighter!

Try putting your piping bag inside a tall glass and fold the edges over the top of the glass. Then fill it up and then take it out! Game changer trick I learned a while back.

You can pulse the cane sugar a couple times in a blender/processor/grinder to make it a little more fine like granulated sugar A pro tip I’ve not used myself because I’m so intimidated by piping 😅 but the bakers I watch use a tall glass/cup or container to hold the piping bag upright, having the top of it folded over the glass to hold it open as well!

Not sure if it’s been mentioned by anyone yet but next time you add frosting or meringue into a piping bag, best recommendation is to put you piping bag into a jar or cup, peel back the piping bag around the rim of the cup and fill her up 😊 that way you won’t have that much of a mess and won’t have meringue or frosting up the sides of the bag where you twist it and place your hands to pipe ❤ much love girly 😊 either way they looked yummy and turned out nice

For recipes that ask for smaller sugar you can crush it in a pestle and mortar or possibly a spice grinder. Unless you are doing actual melting, sugar temperature, crystallisation stuff, I don’t think cane sugar should cause too much issues for meringues the size is for getting it to dissolve fully. For piping bags if you put it in a tall glass it makes fill so much easier and if you double follow the top of the bag you can wipe against the side without it getting on the outside. I have some tip couplers which are really useful for using different tips on the same colour when icing cookies.

Hey Allison seeing what is happening in Florida makes me think of you and your family. I pray you are all safe. We just had hurricane Fiona land here in Nova Scotia, Canada . The weather has been getting so much worse the last few years and the Bible talks about these things happening. I will be happy to hear that you and Brandon are safe. Thanks for your channel. A tip for filling pastry bags is take a tall cup and fold the top of the bag over the cup. That way you don’t have to hold the bag and the top is folded so it won’t get messy. Fill to your liking then unfold and pull out of the cup. Wala!

I have an old Martha Stewart DVD of Christmas ideas. She did meringue mushrooms and put them around a yule log cake. Super cute. She also used a wet finger to shape the meringue after they were piped onto the baking sheet to eliminate points and ridges. Just so you know for next time 😉 Good stuff, from Central Oregon

Hey Allison, quick tip for the handling of the piping bag: place it in a large glass or vase and kind of curl the edges wider, so you have booth hands for the frosting. ✌🏼

It’s easier to put frosting or anything really, in a piping bag if you stand it upright in a tall glass. The tip of the bag pointed down of course. You can fold the top of the bag over the lip of the glass and it keeps it open.

We are done here in Orlando and tried out a couple of your food suggestions before the hurricane hit yesterday. We went to Salty donut! Yum! We also went to Black Bean Deli and my kids loved it. THe chicken fell off the bone and was so moist.

As a tip for getting frosting/meringue into piping bags: put the bag into a tall cup and roll the edges over the rim. And then you can just fill the lined cup! I hope that made sense 😅
