At the end of the day this is a game, not real life, if the game would be 100% realistic i assure you that you'd not be having fun, because the game would be unplayable, unplayable for many reasons
Im fine with the cut in inventory, but i think it was 1. A tad too much on all items and 2. Backpacks were nerfed too much. If they wabted to nerf unrealistic clthing capacity they shouldve made backpacks/vests the primary way to carry gear depending on if youre Ghilled up or not. The field jacket should at least be thirty slots, if youve ever worn one you can fit a lot of shit in all those pockets. Not a whole rifle obviously but there is no comparing a field jacket to a bomber jacket when they share the same slots.
I agree! I have been surviving in official Sakhal since launch and it haze been the most fun I have had in Dayz in 10 years! No joke. I found a legit “hidden” cave and moved two barrels to it (one for water, fresh chelated snow, and one as a fire barrel. Sooo OP. It is not in between poi’s so it had been hidden untouched the whole time! Until today…. Wobo dropped a new video: “best cave base locations”. My once “hidden” solo cave base that I found by exploring no man’s land is no longer “hidden”. Wobo’s goons made it to my cave onofficial about two hours ago… It’s cooked… Wobo is the reason why I won’t be playing Dayz anymore. The spoiler and meta content is just going to far and has finally reached into my personal experience and screwed with it… Official Dayz was my favorite game for the longest time… Goodbye friend.

The devs said over a month ago, all predator meats are now infected. Its not salmonella. They did this to stop people from using preds as food delivery.
Honestly hate this change far more than the clothing one. At least not carryibg a rifle in a two polcet jacket is a change for realism but you can safely eat predator meat irl. Now there is nothing but a negative when wolves ckme adter you, making you use ammo, possibly injuring you, and revealing your location. But just so you and anyone else who reads this knows, predator fats are still safe to eat.

I've eaten fresh deer off the road too.These boys don't know nothing about that. I've eaten possum too. I don't care for them, they're greasy. You can get the rotten taste out of them by catching them and feeding them corn for a week or so. If things get bad enough they are a viable food source for sure.
I get it. When it comes down to a survival situation(you gotta do what you gotta do). But there’s no way in hell will you see me or my kids eat any of that lol you will see me get a second job if inflation gets bad enough but we will never be desperate enough to eat possums😂 my rule of thumb is don’t eat what eats your trash or has access to it and unsupervised.
I lovr every single change, today i ruined my plastic water bottle because abother survivor has boiling clean water to share so i tryied to fill it up while it was hot and melted the plastic o.o
tldr; the inventory problem isn't the actual inventories themselves, but the item sizes not making sense. i think the inventory problem lies with things not making any sense at all storage wise. on one hand for pure survival purposes the inventory makes sense, but on the other hand if you want a vehicle, or base to use as home it requires an extreme amount of inventory space. for a simple car, you need a spark plug (just one slot so it don't matter), a car battery (the 3x3 space is worth it for the value of a car), a radiator (way too large for a radiator), something to transfer fuel into the car (just a water bottle would work fine), plenty of water for the radiator (so you're going to need a cooking pot minimum so you can also drink some water yourself), and then stack that with the supplies you keep just for your own survival and the fact that you're most likely not even going to find a car, and you start to understand the issue. it doesn't help that bohemia believe storage is entirely 2d and all objects are aligned perfectly in your bags. looking back to the radiator it's very wide obviously, but it doesn't have to lie in your backpack thin side up with everything else. i'm not saying let us rotate the objects more, i'm saying make the objects storage numbers use a more cubic measurement for their final value rather than wide side only.
Personally i think the update is great it sets all the rules for survival ive die 5 times now 3 by other players 2 by wolves after 20 hours of playing now survived 5 hours well worth the money i paid $40 Australian well done to the makers and no offence to other players that find it hard play. Play something easier like minecraft or a modded one that give all the loot
only thing about the meat thing is there should be a way to tell if the meat is bad. you should have to inspect the piece of meat in your inventory and identify off color or parasites in it.
you can see what type of meat it is,if it is wold,dont eat it...........played on sakhal quiet a few times and starving is not necessary if you go into the mountains,lots of deer,rabbit,elk,sheep
DayZ is now even more realistic now than ever, I'm loving the changes, it's meant to be hard and this map has encouraged players to work together more than ever. Grouping and thinking hard about what you pick up mean more and I like the inventory system for it, people want it to be easy, if this thins the herd so be it, it's not meant to be easy. Biggest difficulty on this map for me is water, unless you have multivitamins to eat snow or predator meat.
You can tell how realistic dayz frostline is because I didn't want to fresh spawn in at night time while there was a blizzard lol..I thought ill wait abit
You can mod your server to mitigate some of the unplayability I have the FOG expanded inventory so a couple of items let you pack sufficient gear to be realistic because items like tents take up way too much pack space and food you backpack with is too heavy. Starting with a T-shirt in the Arctic is also pretty absurd. I have gone around my spawn points and put sea chests in a few houses with better clothing and some food because people were starving to death and probably getting frustrated.
Basically you’ve got happy healthy people with good imagination and you’ve got sad, mad people who hate on anything new because they’re miserable people. You can’t help them bro. They probably never even played it.
One thing that bugs me is the servers, i died in Sakhal after becoming well geared, clothed and armed because i entered a car without a door, and got ambushed by a zombie who was beating me inside and kept interupting my exit animation, it beat me u til i was uncon amd then, connection interupted, it felt like a slap in the face after all that survival and carefull planning i died to a fking gl1tch. They need to fix the fking servers. You cant have a game that makes you die when you disconnect uncon, disconnect you 10 times an hour.
Not sure if someone in the comments already covered this. But u can totally eat the fat from wolves n bears - only the fat is safe. Since playin Sakhal I've only been eatin the fat from wolves apart from the other safe food in the game n I haven't contracted any sicknesses.
Personally, I'm really glad they cut the inventory, but unfortunately, this is not enough to stop duping and at least for console players this is the main problem, it ruins the entire economy and just makes the game unfair to those who refuse to do so. Anyway, I think Dayz is in pretty good shape right now, the current changes make the experience more difficult but enjoyable.
This is more of a survival sim...most people ive come across have been friendly..because the elements are so difficult to survive... Which tbh im enjoying...if i want pvp madness I'll play livonia or cherno..
i think the update is great. so far official for me has been the way to play the dlc. I do think they need to nerf the loot a bit more in the tier 4 and nato containers though because me and my mate are rocking suppressed M4's and DMRs and we both started only playing this map on the 17th.
I like the loot economy. 90% of players haven't even made it off the cost lol I'm not worried about m4s. We made it to the bunker 3 times the first two days of drop.

@@Rooslahn Predator meat is 50/50 (per piece of meat) going to make you sick (parasite), Bear/wolf only. Snow cannot be converted to water without filtering due to heavy metal contamination.

i cannot stand this update. inventory space felt limited before until you had every slot min maxed and now it just feels like you cant carry anything. the predator meat change has completely fucked one of my groups favorite playstyles which is to get a gun, kill a pack, and get fed up to move on to other areas. but now thats just not possible. Im sad to say it but the game isnt fun for me anymore and this update killed it for me. How are they gonna make salmonella a thing and not even acknowledge the fact that cooking it kills it? its so fuckin dumb. (edit) my opinion of it not being fun has nothing to do with skill, i can play it just fine, it is not FUN anymore is my problem and many others. Its just tedious for tedium sake. Im a namalsk and dayz player mainly. We play this game because its hard. im not asking it to be easy. I just want it to be fun, and this just is not. Saying that Frostline is overpriced is crazy. You do not pay only for Forstline, you pay also for all future updates that vanilla players get for free. In this economy/economic price of everything skyrocked, and demanding price before pandemic is crazy. This price for that amount of content, features is fair. And comparing price is basic tactic how else would we know if something is overpriced or not? You pay more for couple of skins in warzone. And here you get shitload of content + future updates, can't see how peoplec can say it is not fair
Exactly. 2 months of subscription in World of Warcraft is already more than this DLC; and that for a game I've purchased initially in 2014. Don't see it as just paying for a content drop but rather as funding for Bohemia to support the game. Past and present. We should be glad Bohemia hasn't added microtransactions, subscription models or outright abandoned the game.
Let's not talk about the realism of carrying a car tyre in your inventory, when DayZ gives you pneumonia from cold (it is caused by bacteria or viruses), or gives you Kuru within minutes of eating ALL human meat. It can take 10 to 50 years (Wikipedia) to develop symptoms and ONLY if you eat the brain !! Heavy metal poisoning takes months or years (Wikipedia), not minutes. And that's just off the top of my head. So players deserve a break, deserve to be able to put tyres in their backpacks.
Bro there’s plenty of games out there that allow you to do a lot more than carrying tires in your inventory. Dayz is one of a kind and there are only a few games that match the standards for Dayz. What do you need a break from?
DayZ lost it from the start. PVP mechanics were always fucked up. They kicked out the pvp players and made the game super survivalist you even wanted a toilet paper to shit somewhere in the woods. If they kept survival element to the minimum exactly like the mod and kept pvp it would be the most popular game ever but devs wanted to listen to the pve morons. One small example is Namalsk success. Dont forget how many players DayZ brought to PUBG and other games. All these players could be still in DayZ but NOOO the devs knew their shit lol. Oh Well who gives a shit anymore.
Dayz is supposed to be a survival game and the pvp isn't shit when the game was an arma mod which is a military simulator, play a different game that suits your needs if you can't survive
Miscreated was the best ever. Day z map to big and no rewards for searching a house! Rip Day z you had time to make the game better but the developers are Liberals so thats why it failed.
