I bought DayZ and the Livonia dlc twice, once on Xbox and once on pc and I would buy them both again. Really glad they are making Livonia more accessible to everyone such an underrated map.
@EXDna yeah, would make the different clothes more and less usefull. No need for full hunter stuff in summer. I really hope they bring seasons not just a map.

I'd imagine whatever is coming in terms of a new map requires assets from Livonia so bundling it with DayZ base means everyone can access (buy) the new content right from the start.
My theory- they are giving yall laviona for free cause there's a new map coming and half the people they play would prob cryyyyyy about" having to pay for two dcl maps"
Although ive bought Livonia on console and pc, im super happy about them adding it for free to those who dont have it yet. I dont mind helping fund my all time favorite game and id honestly buy the next map, and this step i believe is in the RIGHT direction. Super stoked about whats to come in the near future! Guys, just be thankful they havent went in the direction of most game devs with micro transactions, or pay to win mechanics, be glad that everyone on console and pc has the same experience (on official) and game updates unlike games like rust where console is missing many features that pc has, ive been playing since day 1 of console release and theyve made SO many improvements since then its unreal. Thank you dayz devs!
i think its as simple as once this new map hits at the end of the year, they dont want new players to be on the fence about buying dayz because some of the other maps (livonia) are behind a paywall. They want new players to be like 'ok so if i buy dayz i just have to buy the game and this one dlc, not two. to have 'everything'.
Going back to the anniversary teaser. The map with the 35 runway was speculative an ARMA map. That same island is the map used in the newer ARMA 3 tutorial missions for new players
I bought Livonia 3 times (ps4, pc, arma 3 contact). I bought the pc variant two days prior to the announcement of it becoming free. Personally I dont mind it at all. I bought it because I thought it was worth it. I'm glad more people get to enjoy the amazing map. I dont consider it as a waste of my money because I love this game and am super happy to still see it be so active after all these years.
It was a passion project, and isn't that likely to be that profitable - So business models are pretty much N/A :) Historically speaking.. It would seem that the tides are changing however, BI has clearly been ramping up their investment lately. One thing is obvious though, REFORGER.. and more specifically the ENFUSION engine, is largely behind DayZ's continued development! The most significant point however, is that Bohemia INTERACTIVE is just the little brother 😉😎
@@godlypsychofor real I look at the ark update videos and everyone is yelling at the devs and then I switched to minecraft and same thing and both those games has tones of in game mechanics and features but then you go to dayz a game thats only changed for the worse in the past year and nothing but praise from the community like wtf
You bought a micro transaction, which means you bought some license from the developer, which means its not some asset, stock or NFT you own, you just bought a license with access to it until developer makes further changes. That sucks 😃
I hope that they will update stash system, and in new update it will be working like some bank-account, that no one can access tou your small storage to prevent cheaters with X-Ray to loot any of your stash with 1 sec
You supported the dev team to keep the game alive. I bought it twice (Xbox & pc) and after seeing all the support its getting (like it or not) I personally have no issue. If they release a new DLC map I will buy that also. I would rather support this is COD micro transactions.
I brought Dayz day 1 and Livonia on day1 release on PS and then moved to Xbox and brought them both again 😂 But. I'm happy to see it become free for others who don't own yet. Will make it more popular 🤞
I think in terms of marketing, this could be a shroud manoeuvre! So the new map/DLC is going to generate a lot of interest. Equally BI bundling their old DLC with the game and justifying that by charging more.. I feel they're going to make a lot more profit 🎉
I was playing dayz with some kid that just bought Livonia yesterday. When he purchased it he was so sad to spend the money, he's like I'm going to be homeless if i keep spending money... now the day after he paid for it they announce it will be free haha
Bigger bag space or lower space points on carrying tents and guns maybe and weapon racks and more options in transport pc got tanks and helicopters PS and xbox only got truck car and hummer and 2of them ar fucked up hard to find maybe some good stuff for 1.26 update
Not even mad about Livonia needs this not enough people have it and community server on xbox are mostly chenarus because they're friend don't have it or they themselves don't have so I'm hoping to see more Livonia servers soon
Increasing the game price while giving Livonia for free is a good investment. Those who allready play DayZ have more content and those who want to buy it have more from the begining. I really hope a Winter map comes out, maybe even Namalsk, tho Im sceptical
Okay. What about those of us on console that already have Livonia? Will the 1.25 update automatically include and install Livonia? Speaking of Livonia, I've yet to come across the [supposed] changes added to Livonia a while back. But, I'm hoping the 1.25 install will have a complete Livonia map.
On PC, my DayZ installed with Livonia. And when I purchased Livonia it just unlocked, I started the game right after buying. I assume since so many assets are shared? Not sure
To all of you that bought it - Thank you for supporting the game we all love! If you don't share this sentiment, then at least know that your support/investment in DayZ helped get us to this point - This is their way of saying thank you to the community, though I'm sure it would have taken some convincing at management level! We all benefit from this because DayZ wouldn't be DayZ without it's players, and this removes a major barrier 🫡 And quite frankly, a commercial entity offering something for free / to say thank you, is remarkable. It says a lot about their 'position' and willingness to continue supporting what is ultimately a product.. No go play some DayZ 😎
For me the issue is that Livonia is still up as a paid DLC without a warning on Steam. I just bought it, a week ago for both me and a friend. It's not something I will lay sleepless about. I have after all played this game since its launch and the mod before that so I have gotten my money worth out of DayZ to say the least, but they really should warn new buyers that this will become free within a short period of time.
if they'd make bunker available to solos, i might get excited. as it is, existing livonia owners get nothing and new dayz buyers are forced into getting it. like macdonalds forcing you to get chips with every burger, want it or not... the way i see it it's not meh, it's actually a harmful change
@@Marks12 difficult i don't mind. but this is impossible without relying on other players' (willing or unwilling) cooperation. dunno maybe it's not such a big deal for others but it is for me
yeaa no guns are an important factor in the game adding new ones keeps it fresh gives you something to look for in the world don’t get me wrong a base overhaul would be nice tho
They could make efforts. It will never cure but could keep hackers from going mostly unchecked. Wall hacks are hard to stop, but detecting someone getting an 1000m pistol snipe thrice in a row (exaggerated example) should throw up red flags
@@Marks12 Yes but striving to make it so 1 cheater can't impact people on the entire map of chernarus/Livonia would be a great thing tbh Even tho hackers are few their impact is felt throughout the entire map making it so people think there is a big hacking issue with a lot of hackers when it just 1 dude.
Get off official servers if the cheaters are an issue for you, community servers on console and pc have admins normally and there is more "policing" done
This move makes us vanilla players not want to buy future dlcs especially when they become free to everyone. They making a bad move in my eye. I certainly won't be paying for any new dlcs
Seems like I am the only one who thought to check their FAQ xD people who already owned dayz + livonia will get the dayz soundtrack for free and this is only for steam. Meaning console players get nothing

I just need some other sign that a map is coming, the walkman and tape they sent you in the ammo tin sounded like a new map was inbound. the fact the tape said "supplies running low and moving inland on the continent" pretty much like that if I'm not mistaken.
Yo as you gonna see and speak with devs try to explain them that the problem with livonia and the reason that its empty its beacouse its a small map that need a lot of rework! Look at karma krew server their livonia is sick as f, full of three house and new stuff, livonia needs a big rework i dont think putting it free will help 😂😂😂
That is BS!. So do players that have been loyal FOR A DECADE!! and PAID FOR THE DLC!! get the next map/DLC for free or at least with a BIG discounted?. .. oh and in Australia I paid almost $40 for the last DLC and I actually paid TWICE for it, once on XBox and another on PC so yeah I am P'd !
If you bought it on more than one platform that was your choice. They don't owe you anything. Second you bought it to have the right to play it for 4 and 1/2 years before anybody else got it free. That would be like buying a $60 game and 4 and 1/2 years later whining because it's on sale for $5
Thats great news... So i'll receive reimbursement from buying the DLC to support the game, right? Oh well, the math doesnt really adds up but i guess after 13,4k hours in Dayz it was overall a cheap price. But ive gotta say, Livonia was never really that interesting to me so didnt really play there that much and this news wont likely change that either. Livonia needs some more content not just players.

I see dayz devs have been following BSG, Serious it shoulnt matter the price cost, to make people buy dlc then later on put that dlc into main game is wrong. Yes the main game will be litter dearer but not the price it would ofcost to buy the dlc
