this background image means so much to me for some reason. It encompasses not only my fascination with DayZ but just where I want to be in general. Alone, rifle on my back, surviving an abandoned world which I am forever bound to.
dayZ does give that sort of unique vibe and feeling which most games don't give, that feeling of a unique type of realism " survival " out to go and look around, not knowing what to expect etc. and much more.
Great, atmospheric ambient music. Love it. I listened to it while playing The Division (the first game has a much more grim and depressing atmosphere, imo). I took the game really slow to immerse myself. This helped a lot. Great experience, wandering around, listening to the audio logs of people who are already gone. I really like the first track from "Sabled Sun". I found the whole album ("2148") to be really good.
3 years later I still come back to this playlist every once in a while. Something about it brings back that nostalgia of playing DayZ back in 2014. Particularly the image used for this video I think.
If anyone has interest, the deep hum between 55:56 and 56:14 is also from the track 'The Space Center' by Sabled Sun, which is through Simon Heath. Great mix.
Fits pretty well with the game huh? Hoping arma 3 has some sort of Namalsk style Map mod available whenever I make the switch to arma 3 in a year. That areas ambiance as well always gave me some sort of silent hill vibe except with actual humans.
40:14, this song makes me thinking about abandoned cities and villages of USSR after it's fall apart, more like stalker(movie) motives. True loneliness, only nature and pieces of existed civilization.
