To this day I still can’t believe they named that one episode “Yamcha’s big break” 💀. Straight violation to Yamcha and he ain’t been the same ever since.
Remember when yamcha wasn’t only not a joke, but he was actually cool even when I knew him having a broken leg couldn’t help beat king piccolo he still tried
Honestly I was so excited seeing this fight I like how they ended it with goku making a silly face and look like krillin jump out the of fear but goku was so fast that he hit him 3-4 times knocking him out the ring without knowing well beside Tien
I still believe to this day that the transition from this arc to the King Piccolo arc is one of the hardest transitions ever. They really make you realize that this man Piccolo was not playing.
Imagine watching that for the first time. You're thinking its a breather from the action packed tournament, instead, half the tournament gets fucking demolished by Tambourine, one of Piccolo's weak ass henchmen. Then they set up the next villain all within minutes. Toriyama was not messing around.
The way i see Master Roshi's feat of taking 50 years to create the Kamehameha was him being one of the first dudes to ever do what he did on earth. I also wanna say that it stands a good head and shoulder above any generic ki blast given its utility.
the reason why the kamehameha took 50 years is because muten roshi spent a long time refining it. all the kamehamehas that his students (and tien) pull are just glorified ki blasts, but the mastered kamehameha lets roshi punch above his weight class.
The scouters show that the Ki blasts used on earth are very different from all other ki blasts. Most of them cause the user's power level to drop The Kaméhaméha and Makankosappo cause the user's power level to rise making them much more powerful
I always say this. Give Yamcha an opponent that's actually relative to him and I promise you he can cook. It aint his fault that he's damn near always put up against a powerhouse just to show how strong they are. Hell the ONE time he got a fair win was with the saibamen since he DID beat it but nope they couldn't even give him that much. Put some respect on Yamcha bruh he does not deserve any of the hate he gets
Honestly the db anime really is helped a lot by the fact that toriyama is just a goat at fight choreography, they got the best template to animate off of! Great video bro you’re killing it. Get this man to 100k!
BRO THE FACT THAT YOU BRING UP THE IMPORTANCE OF PANELING & storytelling because it MATTERS but at the same time can appreciate the more meat head stank face moments
Tien truly is one of the best characters in the entire Dragonball series. I wish Tien was on the saiyans level again because he was just so damn cool with so much potential. 22nd WT Tien is such a cool antagonist.
Ain’t no way I’ve been a DB fan for years and I never knew that song was not only about Yamcha but that that’s not even the whole song and the full version is a WHOLE BANGER
For anyone that wants an English dub version of the fight but with Yamcha’s theme in the background some guy with undoubtedly a whole lot of maidens did it: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-tTOXSPuf5sg.html
guldo really had the power to stop time, but was forced to use literal telekinesis instead because the boyz were too fast, meanwhile burter was on crack and nobody talks about it seriously
The Ginyu force scrap on King Kai's planet wasn't cannon to the Manga but it is considered cannon to the anime. I still support your stance on Chaozu because while he was boxing the Ginyus, it was still only Guldo.
The manga is the only canon that matters. The anime fucks too much shit up and has numerous translation errors. Saying “canon to the anime” means nothing because the anime isn’t the true canon. The manga is (it’s the goddamn source material. Case closed). This isn’t about elitism (so don’t even bother throwing around this assumption). This is about retaining the most accurate information regarding events and characters. Some of y’all be throwing around anime filler in discussions and it just throws everything off, because y’all don’t use the accurate information. This is why we still have people arguing over whether or not Ultimate Gohan is stronger than Ssj3 Goku (even though it should be obvious that Ultimate Gohan is stronger). It’s also why we still have people throwing around the rumor “Toriyama only brought back Goku as MC because of fans” even though Toriyama himself said “Gohan just didn’t work as MC” (this isn’t literally what he says but it’s basically the gist of it). Too much misinformation comes from this fandom purely because it doesn’t follow the source material and relies on anime filler and mistranslations. Chaiotzu’s win against Guldo isn’t canon. If this makes you angry, oh well, not my problem. I’m just tired of misinformation being spread.
Finally someone other then scholar who respects yamcha and dont use the same jokes and actually know db as awhole, I appreciate it fam love the underdogs💯⚡️
Low Key your videos are so underrated. I just found you today and i feel like your production / entertainment value and relatable opinions are phenomenal. Either that or i’m really high
Dragon Ball best Dragon Ball, always. Was truly about skill. Still like the rest of series, even GT mainly for what good it brought but DB best DB. Good video giving good respect.
Bro, every video I've watched of yours the past 2-3 days I've been rolling over dying with laughter. Best subscribe I've had in a while. You a real one.
Chiatzo is only good for one arc and then became useless. At least yamcha is recognized and still got dubs in them dragon ball heroes and even got another one in the Moro arc.
My favorite part of this arc are the parts where Tien is violating Goku lol. Bro was doing wall combos on him like they were in Tekken, and had Goku not jumped out of the way of Tri-Beam, he would've been done for.
I feel you on that Chiaotzu rant. Folks saw him and said "He just like me fr"... and they were right... cuz both of them did not do the math right with how they were moving 😂
Yeah, you know what, Chiaotzu did kind of just get grandfathered into the Z squad. Yajirobe has done more work and that guy just eats fish and hangs out with a cat
Fun fact when freeza booms krilin on namek he says why is it always me. The ending of this video is actually why, but you'd have to be db seasoned to know that.
I can't even lie, this going right into the Piccolo Daimao arc is some of the best pacing in anime history. You think the villain is this one guy, he turns good, then this major, major big bad comes out of nowhere. It's perfection, S+ tier. I prefer DB over Z now, it's official. The anime is a bit slow with some fights during the tournament but Goku vs. Tien is possibly my favorite battle. DBs pacing is incredible, I just re-watched it in honor of Toriyama, now re-watching Z and I'm just like... damn I want to just re-watch this arc again. The announcer has seen some shit man, but he hypes up the matches so well particular in the Japanese dub.
I think that tournament 23, the last one, is more underrated (for me the best, because it's a resolution to the entire saga). Lately I'm seeing that the fans don't give it great value, and I writhe in incomprehension. The Ten Shin Han tournament is more loved than you think.
Yamcha doesn't get nearly the respect he deserves. The fact that this is one of two occasions were he gets to show what he's made of makes me feel greatful
OG Dragon Ball fans gas up the 23rd tournament. But this is my favorite tournament arc! The comedy was on point!+ Tien was a menace! The way he did Yamcha was brutal!! It's still hard to believe they did HIM so dirty in DBS. He has a W over Goku and trains more than anyone! Tien is that guy!! Roshi vs. Tien was a beautiful passing of the torch. But that Goku vs. Tien fight went hard as hell!! Had me yelling at the TV as a kid "GOKU, GET UP! TAKE MY ENERGY! 🙌"
