15/20. 26:46 I love how Tank! comes on, and people are just like "Yes!" (Also, you could almost make a drinking game out of how many times people say something to the effect of "Oh god I hope it's safe..."
My parents almost did what Beej's parents did. My mother almost bought me Cool Device (at the time the most hardcore hentai I knew of) and I had to stop her
I've watched two animes, Evangelion and Utena, and I'm not going to show either to my parents. They are both excellent, but I think they wouldn't like the fanservice in Eva (I didn't either, but I wasn't being shown it by a small human), and they wouldn't appreciate the subtleties of Utena.
Let's see... this is actually relevant to my interests as I've successfully managed to get my Aunt and my Dad into anime (in the case of my Dad, getting him interested enough that he's interested in going to an anime convention after only having seen two shows) - However, due to their age making it difficult to juggle following the action on screen and reading subtitles, they're dub-only viewers. MMO .hack//SIGN - I have literally watched this in front of my parents. Baldr Force: I watched that show and completely forgot about it. MMO Junkie: It's on my to-watch list, and I'm glad it's safe. That Last Show: Good to Know. Isekai: Escaflowne: I own that and will probably be showing it. Restaurant To Another World: On my to-watch list, and I'm glad to know it's safe Tenchi Muyo: War on Geminar: Honestly, "Tenchi series that doesn't have Tenchi in it" is enough to make me nope this show - most of the Tenchi shows after Universe have been... poor at best, so I'm not going to be recommending people things that I know are bad. Konosuba: This is on my to-watch list. I know it's risque - my aunt is generally okay with that - my Dad... I dunno. Plus, considering the humor, I might want to show Slayers first. Tight Novels (Or: Man, I Wish Beej Had Used The English Titles, Because His Weeb Power Level Is So Much Higher Than Mine) "Bichi": Cue the Nope Llama "Yuusha": That turn is unfortunate. I might still watch it (I made it through episode 0 of Druaga), but that's not going in front of the relatives. Shomin Sample: Yeah, no. English Gerents (sp?): Freezing: I know this one, though I haven't seen it. Batsu! Jumping: I need to see this now. Working!!: Good to know! (Also - Umaru Chan is safe.) Yogurting!: *slow clap* Fastening Days: Upcoming Anime: Caligula: Looks good, even if the show could be bad. Bites: Nope! Ramen: Good to know - I need more food porn (though the fact that there's a ramen place within walking distance of my work might be bad for my wallet). Blushing anime: I'm glad this is safe.
Is the Baldr Force EXE anime actually "straight-up porn"? The top-down shooter game it's based on has adult content but the anime seems like a normal mecha drama.
He's talking about Baldr Force EXE Resolution, which is a 4 episode OVA series, and if a review I found online is to be trusted there's a roughly 10 minute scene of a girl getting literally raped by a computer program
Maru, no idea, maru, no-idea, maru, maru (surprised that I got this one right), batsu, batsu (I heard "clothing king" in that description...sounds like a version of OMG), Batsu, Maru ("Hero of Shibuya"??? and I was wrong...soooo wrong), no idea, Batsu, Maru, Maru, batsu (wow, I was wrong...MMO RPG?), Batsu (hmm, was wrong), Batsu, Batsu, Maru, Maru
Awkward even associating Little Busters with crap like Freezing. Little Busters is good and fine as I recall. Anyway this segment is very funny. I smiled at Beej using the gif from Net-juu no Susume, that is a very funny show.
You know how "shitposting ironically is still shitposting" is a thing on the net? With regards to the "showing this to my parents" thing, I don't think they'd be able to get the joke.
That's an eminent meme at this point, it has little if anything to do with reddit, and it's probably not going to stop until otaku-saturation in anime does
