The problem is the U.S. companies are refusing to sell civilians FP laser units so yeah I can buy a DBAL-A3 unit but they will send me a lowered powered unit with no true full power laser. So it’s bullshit. It’s not even illegal for civilians to own full powered lasers it’s just these companies being ridiculously stingy for no good reason. Sad stuff.
The D2 crushes the A3. I have em both, The D2 is bigger a little heavier but worth the tradeoff. Run it with an Arisaka 18650 white light, momentary button and you have the best set up out there. Even with a surefire Vampire next to the A3, The D2 still crushes it. If you have the money, buy the MAWL. Cheapest best setup is an 9007 with a surefire m300v.
It does crush.. but I love the A3.. if I have more money I would get ‘em all.. I love the B.E meyers mawl and the Wilcox Ngal. I’m try get a mk18 with that setup.
Dbal A3 is listed as 1700 bucks and right now they are 500 bucks off. Is 1200 bucks worth it? I’ve watched multiple videos now and I’m still not entirely sold.
@@maroonedwarrior910 I do have a set of NODS from the early 90s. The ones that little birds pilots used in the Mogadishu conflict. They are awesome and a lot of fun. But are way out dated, respectfully.
They’re usually green as they discontinued most of the red lasers. But the OTAL-C is red and it’s the “classic” version of this offset tactical aiming laser. Steiner Optics' DBAL-I2 Dual-Beam Red Visible/IR Aiming Laser is discontinued but can find it in the wild. Hope this helps. Like and sub
Why are the models different from each other? The one I see in the product documentation (on the Steiner website) has notches on the sides, is this just an aesthetic difference or is it a specificity of the restricted model?
It’s just design if ur looking at the A3 like I have… the only difference would be output as far as laser or ir illumination is concerned. Civilian version give good output but restricted version has even higher output. The other one is single spectrum Dbal i2 with the IR Laser and illuminator is the best DBAL I2 there is in my opinion, its got the features that you want and the price point to match. Its what they should have released originally if you ask me. The A3 is nice and to be able to zero the laser during the Day is handy, but once the sun sets the Vis laser never gets used again, except to play with a cat 🐈⬛ lol 😂 hope this helps bro.
