This is NOT a good person, and the proof is out there. People wanted to support this person because they're 'trans and a minority' yada yada, but she is a PRIME example of that being a BAD reason to support somebody. People need to be supported based on merit, not identity. And to call somebody transphobic because they're CRITICAL of you as a PERSON (nothing to do with trans) is the height of insanity and deflection.
god i cringe so hard whenever anyone uses their minority as a shield to do whatever the fck they want. it discredits all real trans people and makes people who actually face real issues afraid to talk about it because people will just cry that its fake or attention seeking.

As a trans person, its like Aydreinn said, people like this are doing so much damage to the community, and they deserve to be held accountable for both that and their other actions. I mean, if someone is going to use people like Jane as a justification to hate *all of us* rather than just judging her as an individual, they were clearly bigoted to begin with, but that's no reason to give them more ammo. I'm in a discord server with a bunch of people who believe theyre genuinely characters from various media (I'm honestly in the server just for a friend). they'll talk about how they miss their 'friends' (other characters from the same media) and their 'memories' from the media and they all have in their bios 'if you're a double of me, don't interact with me'. they constantly say they aren't delusional but they very clearly are and I don't mean that with malice.

I think Jane needs more time away from the internet, not just Twitter, but social media as a whole. She should take a break from DbD, maybe get a therapist or someone else professional who can help her because this is not normal in the slightest. Identifying this hard with a ficticious character isn't good because she's forgetting who she is. Sometimes it even seems like she forgets that there are real people behind the screens.

@@grandma650 That honestly makes a lot of sense too. Their whole identity and life is online, they become something else, they even lose their own basic identity. It actually reminds me of a woman I knew who lived 24/7 online, made up her life fully, she even made up a daughter and friend (created fake accounts with them on Facebook and such, then she made them all interact together pretending they were a close family and close friends), it was just sad to witness. But at least, she was a lovely and nice person, unlike Jane who apparently heard the saying "You can be anything you want on the Internet !" and decided to be a giant AH.
I’ve known narcissistic people like her and they’re always hostile & play victim and do whatever it takes to put the heat on you instead of them because they refuse to acknowledge they’re in the wrong. It seems like to me Jane is an abuser. It's the same type of situation you often see in domestic abuse. Where the abuser acts out but then apologizes, then does it all over again. Only in an online space. People who use this method of abuse often think that they can just apologize and everything will be OK, often not actually taking the time to self reflect on their actions and the harm it's caused. They might even say like Jane has that they need to step away to re-evaluate but that is just to appease the masses. When in reality they just want everyone to forgive them. It will honestly happen over and over until someone manages to point out and get through to Jane that this is what she is doing or people stop forgiving her, which probably won't happen.

I also remember how they said they even want to rework the "3-gening system" because of her when the issue is the killer (and Knight) in combo with gen perks/addons, not the basic 3-gens strat. I had sympathy for Jane the first time round but She has not changed at all. And Anyone that believed the change happened over night that was their mistake, Change is a slow and uphill battle that is constant. As the term transphobic is thrown around so quickly and with such ease that it will end up losing all meaning. I personally have no problem with someone being who they are, be that Gay,Lesbian,Bi,Trans or anything else, that is their choice and right and i will gladly respect them and try to use the correct pronouns(if I know which pronouns they use), HOWEVER when you use YOUR life choices (edit cause I see that it sounds a bit rude, Example being vegan, which is completely fine before someone gets angry) as a weapon to attack and harm others then you (the aggressor) are the problem not the victim.
While I agree with your message, the only thing I don't agree with is the idea that sexuality is a choice. It's not, & if it were, I don't think the majority of us would go through what we do.

I feel like Jane needs to just step away from pvp games in general. She can’t self reflect because there’s another person involved she can blame rather than look at her mistakes. damn, this reminds me of a time when I was sweating my ass of with blight (to get better at him, comp wannabe mindset etc) I played against her and I knew it was her cuz of (ofc Jane character) and trans flag and anon mode. Holy shit I 4k'd them at 5 gens and she litteraly had a breakdown, typing shit like "this game is in the worst state possible";"how should I play with ppl like that", basically salty crying over pub game. BUT, like 2 weeks prior or more? I was chilling pubs on wesker and I played against her, noticed that only cuz of her pointing at trans flag at my hook, we exchanged nods and I gave her a hatch and after that she was really sweet and warming and chill (even gave me +rep xDD) But idk.. it really shows how she treats that game and trans things, and its alarming xdd MAN it fucking triggers me how she is weaponizing "transphobia" while ppl facing real transphobia are getting shittalked, litteraly cuz of ppl like her, its fucking disguisting

Nah. Being called "transphobic" isn't the death blow people act like it is. At least, not anymore. Too many people on that side of the isle like to use "transphobic" as the fall back for when they can't win a debate or literally anyone disagrees with them. It's been thrown around so much, most people don't take it as the "career killer" they want it to be. It's just a bunch of eye rolling and people thinking "look, someone can't take criticism".

You have people running around, calling themselves "non-binary" to leech attention from this sexuality trend, while real trans people, who actually went through hell to transition, to be who they feel truly are, catch the backlash from these people. 9:52 you hit the nail on the head when it comes to alot of peoples problems when it comes to Jane. She uses her status as a trans woman as a cudgel against people who even moderately disagree with her takes. I hate to say it too but I put partial blame on the community as a whole because most people in it seem to enable Jane in acting this way. There were big content creators who defended and even indulged her negative behavior during the whole "crazy" debacle. It's like you said one bad apple doesn't spoil the whole bunch, and Jane needs to be held accountable when shes wrong.

it's crazy how one person can singlehandedly devalue the term "transphobic" in a matter of minutes she's a terrible representation of any community she is a part of, and i especially feel bad when she's somebody's first interaction with a trans individual because... that's a really difficult first impression to overcome. thankfully the dbd community has a lot of LGBTQ+ folk to widen the perspective and shake any ignorance in an actual positive way
She needs to step away from the internet. I get having a fragile mental state but she does indeed need help, and this game seems to only be making life worse for her. Remember when she faced backlash and said she was taking a break, and was gone for only a handful of days? True healing doesnt happen overnight and I hope she really stops using twitter and social media so much. I pray for her to get the help she needs and maybe one day after she proves she has changed, she could try content creation again.

I imagine Otz didn't know about this until now tbh, probably thought that Jane was a extremely good trans DBD player who deserved to be given a platform because she was so good at a Killer. Here's the thing about trans activism (from someone who's incredibly vocal about trans and LGBT+ rights): There is absolutely nothing wrong with spreading trans positivity in a video game, sometimes it's especially good for telling off bad-acts who want to act like they're welcome; be the bar tender that kicks those people out of their booths and make the others feel welcome and safe in their restaurant. But don't be so paranoid over every slightly negative interaction, only the most obvious ones. Trust me, I've been addicted to Twitter, I was like that two years ago. I only really caused more harm jumping to extreme conclusions. I know the beef has been squashed between the two here, but like, Jane needs to seriously self-reflect more before she has another outburst like this. It's understandable that people mess up and I understand that emotions are high particularly for people within the trans community with the constant bad-hands they are dealt with on a day to day basis, so much so that it's obvious the house is against them (again, coming from someone who fits into the trans label for being gender-fluid). But to go into a very familiar pattern of tirades within barely two months of each other after claiming to have "reflected" is concerning. She needs to remember what image she's promoting, and I'm not saying she needs to have a perfect image because she's trans (again, no one person on Earth is perfect), but because she's a vocal activist for this stuff, campaigning for a better environment for the trans DBD community. The pattern of blaming and gaslighting because she thinks a completely unrelated action or a simple misunderstanding is transphobic, like you said, actively harms that cause. On one final note, I think it’s fine identifying through a fictional character; if a character is relatable enough to you, that’s fair. Hell, I’m not afraid to admit I identify through Claudette, Steve, and Hillbilly for differing reasons each, but I understand someone not liking to go against either of the characters for whatever reason isn’t a reflection on myself, rather game-balance, game interactions or both (except admittedly, I have it really easy when a majority of players wants to go against/with a Steve or Hillbilly). I just find it really ironic that Jane takes someone hating Skull Merchant personally when she could have been looking through the eyes of Laser at that moment when he played as Nurse, another killer that people hate going against, that even SHE hated going against.
this video has 13k views, that's 1/5th of the active players in the game. If you all petitioned BHVR to ban Jane from the game they'd do it in a heartbeat and this problem would solve itself.
Jane's behavior is why I don't have twitter/instagram/tiktok and i deleted my Facebook and reddit How she behaves is how I see A LOT of people on social media behave. Projection, hostility from the get go, lying and taking people out of context, gaslighting and playing victim. It's pathetic but that's what i see so often on social media. Jane is just an example of it.
Ive only had one experience with Jane. It was good. She was wholesome and chatted for a while. But my god the stuff I have her say on twitter is insane. Hope she turns it around because the community as a whole is bad enough. We dont need people that take away the meaning of what transphobia really means
As someone who used to follow her for her positive mindset in the DBD community, she changed A LOT. I am not sure what made her take that turn but I had to unfollow and remove myself from her circle. She has played the victim a lot and especially after unnecessary callouts on people, she can't handle it when people disagrees with her. It's very sad. I think she needs to disassociate herself with the community as a whole as clearly it's not good for her mental health.
I was following her and liked some replies about her needing help and apparently she is going through each of her followers profiles, looking at their likes, and blocking them. This is so obsessive--I never said one thing to her on Twitter and going through a stranger's likes is borderline insanity.
