Whether it destroyed or saved the game is completely subjective, people who wanted more fullscreen buttons enjoy a patch in the usual dbfz direction, people who liked the original game but disliked the direction the patches took will see it as complete destruction

I think this version is really scrubby personally. That said props to those who enjoy it and learn some saucy tech but nobody respects offense anymore and the game is full of too many mashers being enabled to play like idiots with no punishment so for me the game was destroyed a long time ago

@@NLookabill94 Eh, not sure i agree, mashing is only an issue at level 3 Sparking tbh. Level 1 and 2 dont last that long for ppl to actually spam and normally players dont have a lot of bars to spend at those levels. Game is still fine but sparking level 3 being stupid OP means comebacks are much more likely to happen if you save it for your last character, but what i see with much mor frequency is ppl using Sparking to save characters.

I personally would prefer a more tame patch but i am not bothered by more insane bullshit either. I still left anyway because my favorite character didnt get as insane as the patch made others

@@NLookabill94 Majin21, i feel like they tunnel visioned into making her steal gimmick good and utterly failed at the task. To top it all off in one last kick in the crotch they gave baby her old level 3 mix, which means he is quite literally just a better 21 with no downsides

Very subjective opinion spoken as fact brother. I like it so far but spark did not need buffs, just making the game crazier for no reason. One silver lining is more of the cast can solo in limit break with spark for ToD’s 🤷🏼‍♂️

Hey as long as people have fun in the 28 day span before Sparking! Zero comes out, then that’s all that really matters. It’s gonna be hard to justify NOT having a sequel once we hit 2025. Edit: To the people saying DBFZ, isn’t SZ, I got that part. What I’m saying is that there’s a large part of the DBFZ player base who love Dragon Ball and current games more than fighting games, who will gladly migrate to the newest Dragon Ball game, regardless of style or type of game.

No it's not. They are totally different games. Sparking is the 4th budokai tenkaiichi. They are fun. There won't be a sparking zero event at evo or anything like that.

this was probably true at first, but those types of fans jumped ship way long ago. dbfz doesn't really offer anything to core dragon ball fans that other dragon ball games don't. it has basically no singleplayer content and is missing the roughly 1 million character counts that those fans have become accustomed to with the budokai tenkaichi and xenoverse series of games. believe me, nobody who is still playing dbfz is playing it because they are waiting for sparking zero. the people who are waiting for sparking zero are probably playing xenoverse, the old tenkaichi games, or kakarot.

I have never seen a fg community that's so whiney and ungrateful. If it wasn't for the commercial, critical, and competitive success of Dragon Ball FighterZ, the FGC would still enjoy no attention from the greater gaming community.

the game isn't perfect. but i think this patch did alot of good. alot of new stuff was added that helps alot of characters. and while there is alot of silly shit, thats to be expected from a team fighter. the game has become more explosive and thats what makes team fighers so interesting. as a spectator and a returning player, the game is alot more enjoyable. ive not been a fan of alot of the recent metas. and im seeing alot more cool teams than before. this game has its own identity to still. Even comparing it to others like UMVC3, its still a very interesting game. sparking is very similar to xfactor in how its used, but has very diffrent applications because of its more burst function. with team fighters i do feel like they do need the more crazy move sets to make the game interesting. while alot of changes benefit the top tiers, there is no denying the fact that they also help lower tier characters way more. I think in modern day of the FGC mindset, we have lost that idea of making the game more ridiculous to help its balance. and i think this is what figherz needed.

Well said. Modern FGC's mindset seems to be "If something's even SLIGHTLY strong, PLEASE nerf it into the dirt." A lot of modern FGC players are mentally weak and can't handle/don't want to handle stress in FGs

Its def unforgiving as someone whos owned the game for years and only plays on occasions I find it very hard to find a balanced ranked match where I actually feel like im fighting someone with 36 wins lol def must be really fun for vet players unlike me who has just figure out how to do a basic loop lol

I definitely think it’s MUCH better. It's too early to say if the game is "Saved", but if DBFZ players would stop crying over nothing when I know for a fact most of them don't even play the game like that, it would be great
