Sir, in the topic DBMS schemas (ER diagram sample case study) you said that address is the multi valued but in actual it is composite attribute according to the theory explanation. Which is the correct one...?
Well I find out this video from RU-vid ad but the video is have very good clear concepts and explanation I'll bet you this video worth watching for tech learners
@12:07 : Is Relational database so called simply because the data is organised with "relationships" defined between data or because of storing the data in a logical structure table? Every data in any database exists with some or the other "relation". Database is nothing but collection of "related" data. There exists no data without any "relation". As per me, a database is called a relational database not merely due to the fact that it allows us to define the relationships within the database; it's because "the related data" is stored and accessed in the form of table(s).
Great course and really good explanation!! But there's a doubt at 1:22:54. The relation between lecturer and students is teaches and is given as 1 : M. But I think it should be Many to Many (M : N) because just like one student can learn from multiple lecturers, one lecturer can also teach multiple students.
Same doubt for me too One student will be taking only one course and one course will be taken by many students. so it should be Student (M) attends (1) Course One lecturer will be teaching many students and one student will be taught by many teachers. so it should be Lecurer (M) teaches (N) Student
Double ellipse is used for multivalued attributes since course id is unique and cannot have multiple values hence it is in single ellipse. Eg of multivalued attribute is phone number.
Please make a video on performance tunning in database and how to improve query performnace and few interview questions related to performance tunning. Most of the interviews, interviwevers are asking performnce tunning questions
Hey @Sukhbirsingh, In Excel, the data will be available only if it’s saved. Users won’t be able to use it until then. Also, it can’t handle large datasets with millions of records in them. Also, filtering is very limited. In DBMS, you can use SQL to write a query according to your need.
In the ER diagram of the Sample case study, how is the Student to Course relationship Many to Many? A course can have multiple students but a Student can't have multiple courses, right?
Starting @45:15, the people who are involved in database designing and who approaches who for requirements gathering and application development is not clear. Can you please clarify what presentor is trying to explain?
In ER Diagram, One student will be taking only one course and one course will be taken by many students. so it should be Student (M) attends (1) Course One lecturer will be teaching many students and one student will be taught by many teachers. so it should be Lecurer (M) teaches (N) Student Pretty confusing
Many a time, he gives examples considering a programming language. Hence, the examples will only be understood by people who have prior knowledge of programming. However, the title of the video is '... For beginners,' which creates a contradiction. A person from a non-programming background will hardly grasp things from the examples and may not fully understand the concept. The title suggests that the content is intended for beginners, but the use of complex examples may hinder the learning experience for those without programming knowledge.
Why the relation between student and lecturer is one to many? one student can be taught by many lecturers and one lecturer can also taught many student. Then why it's not many to many.
because many teachers teaching many students at a time will cause confusion whereas many students learning from many teachers won't be a focused learning(it can be in some cases)
Hey @Rajat, this is a good video to start with. Also, please check out our DBMS Interview Q & A where we cover important questions. Link to the video: bit.ly/3tHWWxG
