The description says "Faller Car System mit DC-Car Decoder". Looking up "Faller Car System", I find that they have a digital version with "GPS". You add 3 "satellites" above your track, and a computer then keeps track of where every vehicle is and, I think, when to stop for the train crossing. I think the same system also keeps them from crashing into each other.

Looks nice, but I didn't see smooth stops with the cars, like trains can do now. It is possible that it doesn't excistst yet. It was good, that there where no crashes between the cars and between the cars and the train. Nice done!
