A concern consumer will know DC always win. But can anyone explain why 2 of my KDK ceiling fans, right after a year of use, their remote started going wonka and the fan now emits this annoying motor sound even when its not at full speed? This doesnt happen to cheaper Fanco or Bestar DC ceiling fans I owned?

DC fans may be quiter, lighter, and energy efficient but their life time compared to AC are limited and require maintenance. DC circuits also fail over time. DC is convenient (Remote controlled, LED, Wifi) but require maintenance contrary to AC motors where they don't or require less maintenance, and last much longer. I am a fan of conventional KDK and Panasonic fans (Ceiling and Pedestal) those run without problems for decades.

Depends on brand I think. My mom house is using Rezo DC fan, 3 years old fan but still going strong and quiet. And the price is below RM 300 with installation by Rezo installer. But I am sad that the Rezo official seller not selling any fan on shoppeee and Lazada anymore.😢
