DC Collectibles Icons Superman vs Doomsday Action Figure Review 

I slept on this old friend, I am your age....and dang I just didn’t wanna spend the $ at the time( walked into a local comic shop today, haven’t been to this one in years and it was dusty in a corner behind stacks of comics/statues, Hallelujah finally got it!

I just rediscovered my set a few days ago because Supes actually sizes up with his Mafex counterparts pretty well and have been freaking out the past few days thinking I had lost his normal/generic head sculpt that was in the preview images. I am very relieved to see the set never included that head and can go back to appreciating it without any worries. Also I happily still have the box with the backdrop and will definitely be using that for future poses (not sure why I never did it before).

It's the best Doomsday head sculpt for sure. Wish it had better articulation.

Brad the DC Universe Geek Great review my DC friend. I happen to see it in my comic book store, but what disappoint me is that the Death of Superman figure pack suppose to have a normal/serious expression piece which is shown in the promo, but it didn't came with it for no reason. Is it possible that I could create a custom head piece for Superman through 3D Print and color it with a finishing touch with Gundam markers?

I think maybe for my birthday I'll ask for this it looks amazing and has a lot of good paint work

Still so unbelievably LAME that DC screwed up with this line. Icons are some of the best figures they ever released but they still found a way to mess it up. Unreal.

I wanted this so bad until they cut one of the hreadsculpts from the release. I bought a bunch of the regular icons superman figures once they went on clearance and glad I did because those crazy eyes were just "overspray". All I needed to do was carefully rub the tip of an exacto knife against the outside edges of the sculpted eye sockets. You have to be very careful because of the face print technology they used, it makes the eyes paint almost sticker like and you can end up lifting/pulling up all of it in one piece of you rush. I screwed up the first one that way but I'm pretty good at painting eyes so it still came really good but the whole point was to keep everything stock. what a huge shame they went so small with these figures because imo they're the best dc figures ever released. I get that they don't want to be the same size as legends for whatever reason but they couldve gone essentials size and this line would still be going. So many great releases. This set, darkseid set, Burnside batgirl with her bike, the sons set(robin and superboy),etc,etc. They really went all out and I think that's why they're being so quick to cut and run with essentials and it's a shame because they're starting to catch on. They only need a couple of quick fixes and an additional 2 male and 2 female bucks/base bodies and they're good to go

The lack of waist swivel keeps me from getting this line.

I don’t know man I’m still happy with my Mattel multiverse doomsday BAF it looks better than the icons one in my opinion and is bigger than the icons but smaller than the DCUC which would probably be more accurate than all of the other ones Edit: the multiverse BAF also has better articulation

LOL- I got my figure set today and I got the"collector grade" and realized that I can't open the box if I want them to keep the colector grade....so I promptly bought a second set that is damaged grade so I can take that set out and play with. Thanks Brad. It's a GREAT looking set. The body for Superman reminds my of Henry Cavil's body, it's in shape, muscular, but has a long torso.

While the figures looked great, the figures just couldnt stand on their own, sadly. Even on the base (with pegs), the figs couldnt stand. The problem are the joints of the legs in the crotch area. But kinda all of the Icon figures suffer the same problem. DC Collectibles have some serious problems with their manufacturing. First i thought I just got a defunct Superman/Doomsday Set, but I had this problem with 80% of the icons line.

When I superman from that pack came broken😢
