I’d say the PWM drive makes it sound more simillar to a Class 319 Thameslink EMU.

The data plate shows the DC motor is 15HP pulling 83A, N.L. 135VCD F.L. 150VDC I'm surprised the voltage is not higher maybe in the 230-240 VDC range to reduce the current draw.

That's weird how it's been abandoned so long, and with the power still on.
@jakewynn
@jakewynn Год назад
Its because the copper theives haven't got there yet. Its them that cause the buildings to be flooded when they steal the copper piping. It must be very secure. I imagine beno used a key or something to get in.

Some buildings must remain powered so that certain safety systems (fire alarm, security, etc) can continue to run.
@jakewynn
@jakewynn Год назад
@@ObtainEmployment oh yeah I don't think that councils will care if its abandoned safety wise but they may have mobile data masts on them etc. That require power. There are a few abandoned multistorey carparks near me that can't be demolished until the mobile data transmitters are removed from the roof.
@ObtainEmployment

@@jakewynn I'm basing this off of the US, but many fire codes here require continuous monitoring, which is done by the fire alarm. If the building catches fire it needs to be caught and sent to the fire dept for dispatch. In my city we have tons of homeless and vagrants who hang out in these buildings so it's a public safety matter, here.
@jakewynn
@jakewynn Год назад
@@ObtainEmployment not saying we don't have the regulations for it, just that the local councils are lazy and don't have any consideration for homeless people 😂 but yeah your point was definitely valid, didn't think of that aspect. Most abandoned buildings get trashed by copper thieves and therefore all power and water is gone.

If the first 2 lifts are DC, does that mean that there is a rectifier to convert the power from the mains supply from AC to DC?
@benolifts
@benolifts Год назад
Yes. Both VF drives and DC drives convert the incoming supply to DC
@matejgamingandotherstuff6484
Next time you should torque stall it with some rebar
@benolifts
@benolifts Год назад
It would have to be a demolition site to something like that, where the lift is about to be turned into a pile of rubble, and the owners don't care about it being stress tested. The problem is that it is rare for demolition sites to still have power.
@matejgamingandotherstuff6484
@@benolifts you toque stall the motor to hear the PWM sound, no?
@benolifts
@benolifts Год назад
It is not confirmed that these lifts are not wanted, so I would not do anything that could stress test or cause damage
@matejgamingandotherstuff6484
@@benolifts That, I understand. But the sound when the motors run is just... too quiet

By looking at the building it’s very much derelict and is in a bad state.
