Elvis - sings about Christians marching onto battle/war. Extremely Christian Southern Lady sees a woman rising and immediately thinks it's the Devil. Logic.
L4D2Ellis you’re missing my point entirely, Christian people are so quick to label anything “unnatural” with, “the devil” when they themselves preach about a dead guy coming back from the dead, a guy pulling a tablet out of a talking burning bush or a guy walking on water which all supersede the level of unnatural displayed by just floating. My point is the hypocrisy and the double standard that someone can label something unnatural such as floating as an act of the devil and then label/call something way crazier an act of god. And all of this this is done without any shred of credible substantiation or a burden of proof.
Firepopcorn 123 because unfortunately, not everything is angelic and positive. Not everyone is Christian, so we all have to sleep with one eye open to make sure the devil doesn’t come after us.
This is more like a Christian stereotype to be honest. This is what they might have been like during the Salem Witch hunt, but most Christians are better now.
Because the whole religion is based on the fear of going to hell. And when you connect fear and dread instead of love and understanding when dealing with god, you’re afraid of everything that’s not directly from said god. so they think everything that’s not in the Bible could drag them to hell.
Hrishikesh Sen as a Christian myself [from an Australian church, mind you] I would be willing to tell you, That’s sort of and oversimplification. We do fear going to Hell, but doing things that the Bible does not talk about won’t send you to hell. Worshiping those things [in fact, worshiping anything save for God] and putting your faith in them, that is what send you to hell. That’s why the Bible tells you not to do certain things, because they are distracting and potentially addictive, which takes you away from God.
Hrishikesh Sen Since the Reformation, many Protestants are assured of their salvation and certain they’re going to heaven as long as they put their faith in Christ. No need to be “perfect” when following the Protestant faith, but morality is a sign that we love God enough to obey His word. So, I’m not afraid of going to Hell because Christ died for me.
Oh COME ON! Flying is cool folks. And the Devil is the Angel of Knowledge. So according to Christians in this context, flying and being smart- BAD. Edit: I guess these guys would hate Superman TOO
