I pulled all 5 of mine from Vegas to north central Arizona. No plates, no problems. Check water. One of mine took 22 gallons distilled chicken water, the least was 13 gallons. When you beat it with everything the house can pull, during the day, it pretty much keeps up. Definitely do your laundry and other high draw events during the day. Mine tanked to 17% snd shutdown after 2 cloudy days (I have configuration H no lights or generator) so I switched back to my diesel generator until the sun came back. I've been off grid for 21 years now. Way out in the sticks. I have since integrated my old diesel generator into the system. It's more than powerful enough at 13,000 watts, 165 amps. But if unit gets too low, it works that old girl pretty hard. (Its about 60 years old) regardless, I'm very happy with my investment. 3 of The other 4 are already gone at a SUBSTANTIAL profit. Gonna try to get more.

best way to (temp/perm) wire your house with those trailers is add 2 50 A breakers and RV outlets at panel . buy 2 RV cables. buy marinco male plugs for 1 end of the RV wires and it will plug right in to trailer. Make sure you disconnect main breaker before plugging in. And make sure the phases are the same all the way. Cost me less than $400

If I want the inverters and batteries to work in synch with grid tie do I just connect a cable from one 50 amp trailer output to the 50 amp generator input receptacle I already have for propane generator? Seems too easy and wondering if the SMA units detect and synchronize to grid.

No, the SMA is not capable of grid feeding at all. You'll just start an electrical sword fight and the SMA's will lose that battle.

Great Chicken video. ? Did you turn off the main breaker to the garage when you plugged it in. I bought one unit to add to my house to kick on my solar unit on the house when the power goes out. I have to shut the main breaker from the grid off or the trailer solar kicks off. The most I get at night is 3 to 4 hours than it kicks off. I just looked at the batteries looks like they need distilled water added. I want to get off the grid I have 13 kw on the house (grid tide). The trailer has the batteries, I may need to add batteries, do you know how to do that? Anyway appreciateed both videos, but the trailer back in May 2020. I have used to power one refrigerator, I needed to use it more efficiently and plug it into the house and get off the grid they keep steeling my juice (electric company). If i can get it to last all night we will be in business. Mine doesn’t have the generator. Crazy thing is these were all made about 5 miles from my house in Woodlake CA. Crazy government contract. I paid 7,500 for mine w/o generator. That was a score. Thanks again.
@Trialnerror
@Trialnerror 2 года назад
LMAO. Yes I isolated the grid from the trailer and then made the switch. You don't want the SMA's to get in a sword fight with the grid. Please check out my more recent content on these trailers (go to my playlist and you'll see a DC solar playlist). I'm fully off grid now but with grid tie backup. That may help answer some questions for you. You should be getting a lot more than 3-4 hours out of even one trailer so those batts need to be topped up with water and run a full 6 hour EQ charge to get the electrolytes moving again.
@jimthvac100

Yeah, I made it to the end... I did the first auction in California at US tower where they were built. I bought 2 for $5000 with fees. These are 2018 units without the Kubota or the lights. They also sold a bunch of the raw trailers for $800. Maybe a better buy than the solar units since so easy to resell. Not AGM batteries, but in perfect shape and yes these things are HEAVY. Sold one for $6500 recently. Problem is several hundred more are coming to sale and I think the prices will crash. I have all the documentation for the components that are the same as yours but what I need is a "operators manual" - Got some good tips from you on the master and slave, but getting the inverters to turn on is problematic. Where did you get your information from the get these powered up? Batteries are fine and the midnite controller shows 52 volts and the incoming wattage from the panels.

@@Trialnerror thank you I was thinking about a dual RV pedestal to plug them into( if code allows ) they gave me building permit and didn't ask about power, house is framed and shop is built. So I guess time will tell if I can leave the trailers mobile? Great find on the grand national post picks
@Trialnerror
@Trialnerror 3 года назад
@@danshea3283 I don't believe they can do much of anything to stop you if you plan to leave the trailers mobile. It would be no different than running off a normal generator. at say a seasonal camp. Really no code worries there that I'm aware of.

@@Trialnerror This was the very first auction at the tower company in Central rural California where they were built. They sold the raw trailers for $900 +/- and I regret not getting some. I think I got 2 for 5k plus fees, base model no gen or lights. I sold one to a friend for $6500 and thanks to you fired up the other one today. All in order. Not certain if I want to try and use it on some land I have without power or go to craigs list for $8k

50amps on 10/2 is a no no! You didn’t mention battery water levels did you? I bought 2 and needed 60 gallons to top them off
@Trialnerror

Don't worry, I only have them going to a 30amp breaker in the house panel. Yea, each battery "box" too about 1.5 gal to top up. Thanks for commenting and good luck with your new toy!

Dude, try evaporative cooling for the house - be aware I don't live in the same country but if your humidity isn't like 1050% you'll be very satisfied and the electricity bill not bankrupting you every month may be a pleasant surprise, it'll be like 40% of typical refrigerative AC costs - not taking anything away from your solar idea at all, I commend you. The outlay is minimal with a far nicer environment to exist in - and yeah I'm a mech/IT engineer from down under. There is no better way to cool your house and use China to supply the equipment (as I sit in standard refrigerant AC) - my house in OZ has this concept. I gain nothing but you'll be very impressed and it'll take a load off the solar system.

AGM is pretty good but remember, this is a TON of batteries and the original cost was $16k per set. I wouldn't think the average person is going to spend that kind of money on batteries alone. The only reason I scored them was because I got to pay pennies on the dollar! Thanks for watching as always buddy!
