DC Universe Online But It's 2024. Today we are revisiting DC Universe Online 13 years Later. #dc #dcuniverse #dcuo Twitter - / curlynapsyt TikTok - / curlynap
i played this game with my brother and we both had a hero and villain character that had the same suit but different powers and called ourselves "the good brothers" and "the evil brothers". Playing this game now is very nostalgic.
@@zzirfamo24Once you start doing the high tier raids and alerts you can play with villains. We had to call up villains a lot cuz they had good ass dps and tanks
We have had many triple AAA games that have released in the 13 years since this game has come out and I cant think of one superhero or non superhero game that has come along to make traversing a map better than DCUO super speed. Except swinging in Marvels Spiderman but thats it. Edit: Just remembered Infamous Second Son. DCUO super speed still more fun tho imo.
@@aaronharris1868 when it was released, it is the first game with "transmog" concept. and already the best at it back then compares to other mmorpgs even with today system.
I still play this game. 😅 they even got it to where you can go to dakota and fight alongside static shock. The game still gets new content drops. Most players just come back when a new episode drops.
I quit playing cause the game was extremely dead. If you want to play alone cool and fine no issue there. Idk who would want that with this game….. but if you try and que up for content man you’re gonna be waiting a while and a long while at that to find full ones. Now I will say this was like 8 months ago when I played last. But I don’t imagine it’s changed much if at all. Waiting over an hour to que up a four man operation is wild.
@@Mythowarsyou have to use Lfg( Looking for group ) chat. It’s the best way to have people see your mission requests. Lfg chat always has people sending invites for content 24/7.
I used to play this game heavily when I was back in Middle and Elementary School. Just to let you know this game has Rock, Paper, Scissors like combat as in certain moves can stop other moves. Like a block will beat a heavy strike move, a projectile heavy will destroy block and a heavy strike defeats projectile moves. Also when you go above Lvl 30 you go by a new power lvl called Combat Rating which is next to your health bar which I recommend checking to see how high you are. I also recommend changing some of your abilities since your abilities should be focused on healing as that is what it's best for and stun locking. Good video and you brought back old childhood memories
Quick question my power is light correct me if im wrong i want to change my power to gadgets an change my weapon to shield do i need a power token an a weapon token to do that ?
@@bamaboy251southside7 for weapons you just need to unlock more skill points and put it into the weapon you want and of course you have to have the weapon equipped. But yes you do need a power token to switch your power
@@bamaboy251southside7I’m kit sure how this game is anymore but try playing a role other then DPS and it will hold its value much longer. People always need a tank and being a tank is the only real difficulty in this game. I spent years playing this and wish they would remaster it so I could come back.
Like what do you though like how much new stuff have they added? I loved this game growing up, but eventually grew out of it. It’s cool to see people still playing it.
@@PurpleObitoextremely. P2w as in if you aren’t spending any money you actully probably just shouldn’t play at all. Things like inventory space and movement are effected by money spending. Which in this game the inventory is like 10 item slots if you don’t spend so basically after one mission your entire inventory would be full. And the big ones artifacts. Artifacts are like perks in this game. They give you insane boost in powers and some will straight up change your moves completely. If you want to max out a single artifact I feel youd have to actually play for years at a time to level up 1 to max. So yea you kinda feel useless unless you pay for the boosting up. Super scummy and has been that way for a long time. A reason why a lot of the community abandoned the game. There’s more sure but that’s the big reason a lot of things happened with this game is it’s monetization
I adored this game when it first came out. I remember bugging my step-dad to take me around to a bunch of stores until we found one with a copy. I stuck with it until they moved away from the monthly subscription model, then when I tried to check it out a few years later I couldn't get my old account stuff back so I just kinda gave up. Had a lot of fun with it back then though
It always amazes me the cosplays people would put together. Legit 1-1 replicates of Deadpool everywhere haha. I had a crazy spawn character with munitions was my favorite way too play ever. I’d for sure hop into this game again if I had a squad or the games wasn’t dead
DCUO is that game that is very nostalgic and at the same time makes me miss my younger days because I played this together with 5 of my cousins. We are all villains and always square up with heroes in Metroplis and Gotham😂 We even made Iconic Marvel Villains and put them in Hero side and people shouting about it lmfao. Miss this game so much as well as my cousins.
An optimal loadout would finish that solo so fast but ngl it's far more enjoyable watching someone doing it with thoughts and prayers like you just did 😂😂. Keep it up bro!
This "optimal loadout" is a thing I don't enjoy much in this game. There are some obvious combos, but I like my character to have the specific powers that I imagine. The problem is sometimes it makes it much underpowered : ( It could be more balanced.
@Ogtoxicchris ok sorry im late man,i used shaded cosmic material & caregivers neon chroma 2,the wolf ears is an accessory, head style is Vesture of proselyte, face style is prisoner of hecate
I still play DCUO... and make videos about it. DCUO has been though a rough patch since the start of 2024. Barely any content... No communication/radio silence until we just got the new Producer Letter just a few days ago... finally announcing the next DLC Brainiac Returns. They just announced the next Ally John Stewart. It may also depend on which server you play.... and what time you play?? But the way DCUO has been lately...... there is a lot people who decided to take a break from DCUO......... :(
I stopped playing because it felt SO outdated. It just felt like an old game that hadn't had real love in a while. It was fun for a bit but despite my love for the abilities it felt so dry/boring, even playing it with my gf didn't help much. This is coming from someone currently playing 7days to die lol
so funny how this video went from funny good times to intense locked in battle LOL. Loved that about DCUO one minute you’re running and flying around goofing off, next minute you’re fighting for your life
They need to do a major update to make it super popular again... I've had so much fun throughout the years, pretending to be extremely powerful standing in a large crowd while waiting for people to challenge me and getting one shot by them 😂😂
100% bro they literally have the foundation. All the game needs is Unreal Engine 5 and a few new powers and missions. Could be as popular as the next GTA if they do it right and make it crossplay for console
I started playing again this week after not playing since I was like 12yrs old. Coming back and fully understanding how the game works just adds so much more fun to it.
Also, in terms of how packed it is, you just have to be in the right phase. Yesterday I was at little bohemia in phase 1, and it was like a museum there were so many people there. Sht was crazy
man I used to love this game, one of my first games on my PS3, played all the way til PS4 with my friends, all we wish is 2.0 or somethin like that, it has so much potential bro
Crazy this game is still going, I used to play it every day for a few years when it first came out and the player count was already dropping off when I stopped. Went back very briefly in like 2018 or 2019 and played for a few weeks, there was only ridiculously high level players all hanging in the few end game areas, I barely saw anyone at low levels or in early game areas
I started in 2012 and still play this game. One of the main things I love about this is definitely the customization. The amount of styles you can put together along with the base items and abilities are literally endless.
I played it between 2011 to 2015. And as a DC fan it was phenomenal at first. But then they changed so many companies for ownership and they changed so many ways of monetization / transactions. It becomes a heavily, brutally pay to win. They softened up PvE content too, back then missions were harder to pass, sometimes you need group effort it was more satisfying. I have some major DLCs and some high level chars on my account but sadly no motivation to return. Also, you cant delete DCUO from your PC somehow, another reason to regret.
Yea I still play it here and there, I usually hop in go to house of legends then hop in a few missions then get bored and hop off😂 I mainly visit the game for nostalgia
I still play it, the customization is so cool especially seeing what other players come up with. And how can I forget chilling in metropolis listening to the music and Npc dialogue
This game was there for me back in the early ps4 days when i was broke, even though it was trash it was fun to grind and do raids with other people. The 5v5 voice chat was the most fun part about it that shit was like being in downtown surrounded by a bunch of crackheads, if you know you know lmao
Lots of new content had been added since then. You should have Lots of fun if you make a come back. ;) Although be warned.... we now have the Stat Clamp now. :(
@@DCUOMultiverse tbh i might redownload it I really miss the game , I remember downloading it in a time where I was exploring games that no one talks about and I found a lot of games that are underrated like this one
I first picked this game up a short time after its launch, I was always on the villains side and it seemed somewhere down the line not only did my friends stop playing but the game in general was just dead, especially for villains, for those unaware, heroes and villains used to be completely separate, this is what caused me to stop playing because I simply could not progress, the only people still playing the game were people in established and active leagues and if you didn't know how to do a raid then good luck learning, because no one would let you in if you didn't know what you were doing, so it felt impossible to progress after probabaly 10 years i picked it up again with my friend about 6 months ago, to be honest I occasionally still saw updates and ads flying around and i always wondered who tf was that even for? as last i played the game was dead, so i was pleasantly suprised to find heroes and villains had finally met in the house of legends and the community was actually active again. Not only is it nostalgic but honestly its the only MMO I've ever been able to really get into, it can be grindy like any other, and unfortunately it can be very pay to win but generally its active, you can do most content at almost any level and the game will scale you, even old content is still relevant because of the feats and the source marks, there seems to always be some sort of event on, and though i gotta say i'm bored of the current peak content, i'm excited to once again be around for some new content in may, the game is still as good as it ever was and its still very active and playable, its still alot of fun.
Man this brings back so many memories as a kid. lol in 8th or 9th grade. Got addicted quick, and started putting a lot of money and time in. Man I would cry if ii got back on hearing all the old sounds. I meet people that were so cool/ loving people. One of my DCUO found his love one on here married kids whole 9. I got knees one of my online DCUO brothers passed. Hurt me. Wasn’t the same. But still played. Had like 8 characters all damn near maxed out I would only her on to help or memories, or when a new update came out. This video brought back a lot of memories man. I’m 27 now 😅 😂😂.
This game would be one of the best games out right now if it gets a remaster and new suits powers and if they have the old powers for free instead of buying them
Man I remember when this first came out. It was first game me an buddy bought that their was no disc in the case and got a digital code in it instead and were peeved at that (that ended up becoming so much more common these days now.) but we loved it and went hard on it for awhile. We had made villains and were henchmen 21 and 24 from the venture bros haha grinded and played til got them lookin best we could. It was a very solid game…. I went to redownload it last summer surprise to hear was still going but once saw the download size I moped out. They should really do another, I know live service games are crap and everywhere these days, but this is one up that did great and it deserves to come back and could really come back. I’d wholeheartedly get into it again if they did.
I remember when I was younger I always wanted to play this but I never could. I got it on switch and played a little but I might re-download on pc soon and play again.
Its honestly an amazing game, its so nostalgic as I remember when i was bugging my sister asking how to play 😂 I love the game and i re downloaded it recently. Gonna play soon!
