Thankfully I found your video while looking the way to covert my Lima PSE TGV. motor are the same but made on a way that motor are turned turned on the left way. By looking closely I found the second wire that I was searching to find it. Thanks again for sharing time to show us how to convert these locomotives into DCC

Nice little job there. Two tips for you. 1) Invest in a new iron - Antex 25watt with fine tip. 2) Invest in a couple of meters of "Heatshrink". Three reasons. 1) Much better control of heating & soldering in restricted spaces. 2) Heatshrink makes a neater insulator. 3) Professional looking results! Hope you don't mind. What you've done is great and I'm only advising, not criticising. Best of luck - onward & upward! Bob

Excellent video - will be chipping up all my Lima loco's. Many I have have never been out if the box or run, and I tested many on DC first, and despite the bad press Lima motors get I would say compared to the older Hornby 3 pole Ringfield motors they perform way better. I was so pleased as this means my 37's, 55, 40's are all keepers

Good informative video, just one or two suggestions, Get rid of that rusty nail you call a soldering iron and invest in a decent piece of kit. And 2, you should get some suitable heat shrink tubing and do away with that rubbish tape

I have just watched your video with great interest, I am in the process of converting a LIMA class 47, from DC to DCC , I have stripped down the motor and checked and cleaned the brushes and the springs , put it all back together and tested it in DC mode, works really well , my next job is to fit the Dcc chip which is a hornby product ?? even though you recommend gaugemaster , I will have to see what the outcome is ???.. ( check this out ) my layout, youtube a complete remodel of my DCC layout. Would like your comments if possible, MARK

The basic procedures described in this video should work with any brand of DCC decoder. Not 100% positive, but I'm reasonably sure all DCC manufacturers conform to the NMRA (US) standard for wire color-coding. If you're unsure, the decoder instructions should have information on the color-coding for that particular decoder. BTW, in the past ten years, I've done about 85 decoder installs for myself and friends. Never done a LIMA before, which is why I checked out this video BEFORE I attempt a conversion of the old Dutch NS EMU set I recently acquired.
