I love this at 15:32 "Hey Dean! Are we gonna put on helmets at some point in the season?" Like it was such a new concept then that the first thought was just "oh they must not have shipped their new helmets in I guess"
It was cool to see where the final show Eveline's from. Much better drill in the final 12 measures of the first piece. The change to a flugelhorn later really made the second piece a distinctively melodic one. The third piece: the final more rapid tempo in the trombone choir compared to this version helped bring up the energy level, and it felt more staccato once the trumpets came in (though this could have been due to recording quality here v. the finals).
5:48 - That's such a great angle to shoot the snares from, I don't know why Tom Blair & co didn't use it again for Finals. Ten seconds later, during the brass hit, I turned to the kid next to me in the theater and said, "There it is, there's the 2016 champs right there, nothing's gonna beat this at Finals." Indeed, Crown was the next corps that night, and it felt like they regressed ten years.
@@mxtty5633Just checked, the first dci 2016 event was in lucas oil plus everyone was like "oh are your headpieces or shakos arriving later in the deacon" in this video so I'm pretty sure it was
@@chikentenderz24 That's what the battery says at that part and can be heard in this video. Look up some Bluecoats 2016 battery lots at that part and you will hear what I mean. Here's an example at 2:40: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-arleDTY4b0A.html
