I wanted to love the MiG. I'm a super fan of the Mirage and I like the Flanker, so I figured the MiG would be like a Mirage with ETs and an EOS. It should be a perfect plane for notching and running valleys. But man, I am so lost in the sauce when I fly the 29. My SA is total garbage in it and I really don't know why. Such a sexy plane though.
@@JETZcorp no datalink system like the su-27 and 33 i love it but its a major shortcoming unless you watch that rwr and bogey dope it to death i love it too

@@maelstrom8088 ya its a really good looking aircrafy and fun to fly (once you get used to it), but in combat it is really unimpressive. Only 6 missiles, somewhat annoying FCS, annoying flight characteristics, no datalink and worst of all, really really REALLY short legs. But still quite fun

They are making a MiG-29A full fidelity module as we speak, but its prob gonna take some time. It is unlikely that we will be seeing many more russian modules since the russian government passed a new piece of legislation further restricting access to information regarding military equipment, but I dont know if that affects soviet aircraft
Just wanted to very briefly let you know how much I appreciate the ultra wide 21:9 1440p+ video format. Just lovely. One more all be it a secondary reason why this is my first address of choice when it comes to my DCS combat video fix. All in all just lovely!
Being somewhat at disadvantage with 29 and still getting scores and landing shows you are a great pilot and a man of class. 😉😁👍🏻 Also, landing with some fuel still in tanks is a big plus!

Nice video, thinking of getting into DCS and your videos helped me, about to take the plunge and get myself a HOTAS + Head tracking, MiG-29 is easily my favourite fighter of all time.

That's why you take 3 bags so you'll have all your internal fuel still left after taking off ;D (Well, one actually is sufficient already and it makes a big difference to stay out of burner on take off)
With the 29 you really need to bring that center fuel tank if you want to have any legs at all. With that you can actually fly short ranged CAS without dogfighting, but just 1 min on full blower will make you pretty nervous about your fuel. I tend to fly at +20k ft and 90/95% throttle and can fly for a while. My biggest issue with the 29 however is the shorter range of the missiles, for some reason even the R-27ERs ans ETs dont match the same range they have on the Su-27 when fired at the exact same conditions
Just got this as my first plane, how is your flying so smooth? When I fly its jittering all over the place even after I try to trim and use auto pilot.
Okay guys how much $$$ would it cost me to buy a PC with VR and DCS 60fps maxed out? I've been saving for awhile and after watching these videos(especially the one with the movie like kill by the flanker) and I want to take the plunge.

QUESTION; @ the 5 minute Mark or 5:04 more specifically...I rewatched, slowed the replay back to 1/2 speed but still missed what happened actually happened when you fired, I saw the missile make a clean break off rt wing rail...you said DAMMIT within a second or less...then ate sheet... YET, I didn't see any incoming at you... I still can't tell what happened. Would you or someone else tell this old man what I'm missing...(disclosure, I broke my glasses yesterday so viewing the HUD is kinda blurry for me... but still, didn't hear any warnings or notice anything from what I could pick up on the HUD) Were you struck by something from the debris field from the other aircraft or were you shot down...Apologize for my ignorance but it's aggravating now bc can't figure it out (Sorta like my country's President...can't figure him out!!! By the way, reminds me and I apologize for interjecting Politics into the comments ...BUT... I SINCERELY AM PROUD OF THE BRITISH COMMANDOS...
