:-D don´t be rude. But yeah...I laughed. This guy has shitloads of videos, so I assume this was made as an outcome from endorphine released into his veins, when he got this sweet module. No surprise. :-)
Not the sound a F-14 canopy makes there is no electric motor it is a Hydropneumatic system canopy is lowed when the nitrogen is released from the lift cylinder sounds like escapin' air with a slight whistle to it.
Correct, nitrogen operation. The loudest sound is the canopy sliding forward to locked and from locked. Kind of a slam as it seats locked, one sound, no follow up locks. And a weird subtle shudder sound as the canopy lifts away after sliding back from locked when raising. What they got right is extremely impressive, and detailed. Guessing this just never came up as a question to ask.
Sounds awesome! When you concentrate on the end when the canopy locks up, the acoustic changes and you can hear that you are in this small space inside the canopy bubble... impressive!
I gotcha Chuck, coughtcha in the middle of the act. You thought you two were alone....but the lustful cockpit noises attracted all cats and voyeurs from the entire neighborhood! I got this going on infinite loop now...
For all the cool videos we're getting, sometimes it's the simple things that get me the most hyped. This is possibly the best canopy noise in DCS, aside from maybe the Viggen's sounding like it is sad because it must kill again!
