Digital Combat Simulator World (DCS World) 2.5 is a free-to-play digital battlefield game and simulation environment. Our dream is to offer the most authentic and realistic simulation of military aircraft, tanks, ground vehicles and ships possible. This free download includes a vast mission area of the Caucasus region and Black Sea that encompasses much of Georgia. It also includes a flyable Russian Sukhoi Su-25T ground attack aircraft and the famous WWII North American TF-51D fighter. An additional 25 aircraft are available for purchase.

@@Mixtapen mhm, no one really talks about the Korean War, there's a reason why at least in the US it sometimes gets referred too as the "forgotten war" by historians and history nerds because it got overshadowed by World War 2 and Vietnam.

@@Friday_Monday Sounds about right. If you think about Europe, how much rebuilding was still left? People had a whole lot of other things to think about with the dust of the world war having barely settled. Of course for the Koreans it must have felt like the end of the world to finally get rid of the Japanese occupation, only to have a really brutal civil war brough upon them. But even so, it was limited to the Korean Peninsula as a theater of war from rest of the world's pov.

I was just debating flight sims with a friend of mine and recommended DCS world just yesterday. Now you make a video neat. Seems I have a new favorite series after all the WW2 stuff, plus war in Korea is very unappreciated in gaming in general.

I agree the Korean War is very underrepresented. It is such a fascinating conflict, especially in the air. Even in DCS it is underrepresented. We have the Mig-15 and of course the Sabre but no Korea map. All of this was actually flown on the Cacusus map. Still fun though!

@@dmdj8588 Strike Fighters 2 is such a underappreciated game, sure it's not as advanced as modern sim games, but it's so much fun, in eras and conflicts not represented anywhere else. And it's got plenty of proper SP content, and a dynamic campaign editor.

Mikhail Antonov Diary Feb, 2 1953 My first days in Korea have been interesting. We are not supposed to be in this fight, but alas, here I am with my squadron from the Motherland. We took to the skies today for our first missions in our MIGs. Cover North Korean Forces, from attacking American forces. En-route I believed to have seen jets below us, but flight lead dismissed me, cause us to fail our mission objective as americans made it across the river. I just hope I can fly like my dad did in the Great Patriotic War. My day will come I must be patient.

Really do like this show. The f86 is a formidable fighter and bomber. I think you carried off the mission superbly. I love the background chatter and I don't know if you did the intro or used the game intro but it was outstanding. I look forward to further episodes.

Can we just take a moment to appreciate the absolute chads that were sitting in that jeep in the open and just spraying into that treeline? Also, no idea where they got a Sherman Firefly from, to my knowledge those weren't used in Korea, but I digress. No use nitpicking about tanks in a flight sim. REALLY looking foward to this series, and hopefully future DCS-centered campaigns like this as well. Early-tech jet combat and pre-BVR in general gets slept on way too much.

Thanks for posting this great playthrough video. I hope you’ll enjoy the rest of the missions too. Remember, you control your own flight with the standard radio menu, and the other flights using the F10 menu. Unfortunately there is no way to control them both at the same time. Also, AI Sabres often act like modern fighters, so when you order them to bomb a target they will fly away and set up for a long bomb run.

In Feb 1953, my mom was 3 months old and my grandpa had just finished his time in the USAF just six months earlier, moving home after being stationed at F. E. Warren in Cheyenne, Wyoming. He entered originally in late 1944 to the USAAF (formerly USAAC) and achieved solo flight status, but was washed out in September 1945. He was then re-upped when Korea began. Discharged with full honors, despite never seeing combat.

I cannot like this video enough! The Hunters over the Yalu is a great campaign, and the Sabre is probably my favorite plane to fly in DCS. Plus it fits into the kind of planes you fly in IL-2 well. Being an early jet and all. Thank you Wolfpack and keep up the amazing videos!

Pricely the reason the Chinese forces refused to move, or often mount large operations at daytime. U.N troops could rely on air support so long as the weather was clear. I’m very excited about to see Korea in the spotlight. MiGs on Sabers, Cowboys on Commies, the USAF’s first war as an independent service, fought as they took the first steps into the Jet age.

Really excited to see a Korean War career series. Seems Americans are less inclined to talking about the war while Chinese media boasts their great fightings against the mighty American and UN forces. My maternal grandpa (passed away in 2019, RIP) was a Chinese soldier stationed right on the northern bank of Yalu River during the war. Never had a chance to go into battle (fortunately in a way, otherwise....). He told me the other battalion in his regiment laughed at his unit for cowarding at the back and not having the luck or the guts to go to the front and make glories for the country before hopping onto the train to the frontline. A few months later that battalion returned-------with 70 men left of the original 600, all with torn up uniforms, blood-stained bandages, pale faces, and thousand-yard stares. None wanted to speak about what happend to the other comrades and what it was like out there, and no one asked. The infantry-based Chinese military fought hard and well and achieved a miraculous stalemate, but the American fire power and combined arms action really taught them a big bloody lesson.

The Korean War is commonly called the forgotten war here in the United States. It is largely true. Even during the war news coverage dramatically dropped off once US forces were driven back. I have always been fascinated about the conflict though. Especially in the air. Thank you for telling your story about your grandfather as well. I always enjoy hearing about the experiences of other people that don't get told here in the States. For on reason or another. He seemed like a good man. Thanks again for sharing.

Great video as always! Korean War is interesting in aviation terms as jets fought alongside propellers. As for Saber it's a great jet but I'm more of MiG guy.
