Today we will look at the F14 Radar controls and use from the rear seat. We will go through radar modes both search and track and engagement methods with all 3 types of A/A missiles the tomcat has.
I've been flying the Cat since it's release but have always wanted to at least have an Idea of what goes on in the RIO's office and therefore jump in the back and have a go, very helpful and well explained, thanks to you both.
@@belugajr3906 you need hcu axis x and y, half and hull action as a minimum, in controls there is a menu called hcu that has all the controls on the real hcu
- RWS and TWS have the same detection range - recommend you revisit the aspect switch, I'm not sure where you got the numbers of each switch. They're by 600 knots - target size switch does commands the missile according to the slant range of the missile to the target, not by time to impact - main lobe clutter switch is not for a 0 closure target; thats zero Doppler filter. Mlc is for contacts that have the same vc to you as the ground is
LT/RT shows the target aspect; a value of zero means he's directly pointed at you, a value of 30 would mean you are bearing 30 degrees left or right off their nose
When the radar loses radar contact, it will show an extrapolated sign after 8 seconds of not receiving a return, and after a further 6, drop the track. Setting track hold forces the WCS to hold it for up to 2 minutes, but is not advisable
Did you say good day welcome to today? That is the cringiest shit ever 😂 Great video though I’ll give it a thumbs up for a good day and welcome to today
I don't think DCS can support 2 players simulating 2 pilots in 2 cockpit fighters? You have to coordinate with another friend, right? Because you are in the co-pilot position.
Dcs sure can simulate multicrew aircraft, in the tomcat you can either fly with or without another human. It is obviously much better with another human though
What rooster could have used is the NATOPS boldface specifically stating that before ejecting in a flat spin the canopy must be ejected or the risk of RIO canopy collision is high.
