Jeff is the most underated aircraft in DCS, but it is very capable, and so much easy and joyful to use ! One tip for fox-3 : add 30° pitch to fire to loft missile. And even if the JF cannot reach Mach 1 with its fuel tanks, the sd-10's rocket has about 5 more seconds of firing than the 120. So, the sd-10 can be faster than the 120, even if you keep fuel tanks...and it is pretty harder to dodge !
I just really enjoy the "bitching betty" thats in the Jeff, or in this case more of a "soothing sarah" cus damn if you werent fighting in a jet you could fall asleep to it :D
I love the JF-17. Its a great first airframe as although its a bit underpowered; it helps new pilots learn fundamental "do's and don'ts" . Great plane to practice landing and taking off, and it has a versatile loadout that can flex to fill any role needed at the moment. Very slept-on choice. EDIT: what server is this?
is this the Block -2 or Block-3 . Cuz Block-3 has aesa radar and new avionics making it much superior to its ancestors. Anyway but that cinematic intro. Damn I loved that.
Awesome to see you covering the JF-17! The cinematic intro in this video is stunning - really sets the tone for an exciting video! And great to see you diving into the details of this fascinating aircraft. Looking forward to more JF-17 content and the rest of your DCS series!.
It is highly unfair to compare JF17 with the American technology of today. This is the first step and should be considered as a first step. F16 was not American first aircraft. Think about the next step.
Nice video, btw you can push Jeff to go supersonic if you climb high e.g. 50000ft and than dive until you pass trans-sonic area, then gently climb. I did not try this in A-G, but you can see in my video titled "JF-17: beginners guide to supersonic air to air combat", step-by-step instructions. BTW: I am not really a content creator.
BRM ? pfffft.... GB-6-SFW would like a chat with you....the one weapon that makes the Falcon and Bugs jealous. Also the Right "iPad" s the best RWR , Map , EWR system you can get in DCS ...much to the annoyance of others. And the LS-6-500's are a great stand off for hard targets.
Regarding BRM rockets, when placed well, in the rear of the tank, you can destroy a tank with just 1 rockets (critical damage and the tank will explode on its own). It's easier if you don't lock the tank, but rather manually point the laser to the rear half of the tank. But since you rarely have to destroy 32 tanks by yourself, you can spend 2-3 rockets per tank, just to be sure.
Has to be my favorite aircraft in DCS. Multirole (not multimission tho), great A-A missles as well as easy to learn avionics. It was my first purchase and I never regretted it.
You don't need external fuel tanks as much as you think. 5100lb of internal fuel, cruising at 25kft you can do about 200-300nm round trip. The common mistake is loading everything under the sun when you don't need as much. Flown the JF since it's release. Great module.
The first thing that lept out to me about this plane is the MFDs. This is by far the most modern cockpit in DCS, and is insanely easy to use for beginners. The hardest thing about flying this plane is turning it on!
2:25 tpod is apparently the most realistic in dcs so this might not necessarily be the tpod being made in china, rather ed not modeling it for their tpods
I dont know anything about the Jeff making it hard to go up against because no one flies it so its hard to understand its weapons and how to fight it but my experience seems very easily
I fly it a lot on growling, the datalink is way better than every other aircraft with high refresh rate and visibility, fox 3 are veeery nice and it has a pretty good vertical scan/instant easy IFF with low radar signature to play around in the mountains, its only flaws to me is not a fast engine when you have bags + missiles and terrible fox 2 But even now it’s my favorite flight model to go and fly around with, super satisfying aircraft and pretty ok in dogfight too 👍🏻
The F-16C from Ali Express. That engine may perform well once you get to transonic speeds, but down low and at combat speeds, it just doesn't have the same kick many of its competitors do. Especially when loaded down (The RD-93 puts out 84.4 kN to the F110-GE-129's eye watering 129 kN). Sensors are pretty aight, but nothing special. The SD-10's are a pretty competitive missile though, even if the PL-5EII's kinda just feel like discount Magic-2's if you've gotta merge. Solid platform, but nothing too special.
@@Ferociousplayz_11 The WS-13 is still 36 kN short of the F110-GE-129. The added power will help the situation, but it won't solve it. It still lacks that ability to get fast quickly like the F-16, F-15, or F-18 (Super Hornet). At least now it will put out about the same thrust as a Legacy F-18, but it's still nothing to write home about.
Yeah, I had the same question - if you look at video time stamp of 11 mins 20 he gets the knee board up - it is the contention server. I have never tried it but might do after this video.
