DCS OpenBeta Update: Easy Coordinates, Quality of life feature 

Hope they keep consistently adding small features like this

Nice to see some quality of life improvements. Even if DCS scratchpad did it first, and "THE WAY" even types those coords in for you. Still, good on ED.

This may not be in the true spirit of a sim but OH MY GOD this is a game changer for VR users

Awesome QOL feature! Nice to see such things coming thru now! This may seem small, but it has a very big effect on the usability of the core without mods! Bravo ED!

In the interview with Wags and Mover, it was made mention that this is all part of the roadmap inbound to an embedded dynamic campaign for DCS. Great job RedKite!!

Thank God ED have implemented this feature. I play VR, VR makes apps such as the way etc. unusable. This is a HUGE step in the right direction.

This is a FANTASIC new addition.

This is really nice. I only play with a couple of friends now and then and since I can't spend loads of time building missions (and don't have much skill doing so), one of the things I like to do is set scenarios where there first 5-10 mins of a mission are us starting up the aircraft and discussing and coming up with a plan of attack. The downside is working out navigation, especially when we are in mismatched aircraft. This is excellent because now if we fail a scenario we can quickly try again and adjust our planned approach on the fly.

Good stuff! I think I'll still use scratchpad for the note-taking ability on the fly, receiving coordinates from allies, etc. But this is a great addition to the core game along with the new warehouse features

Awesome! I read the log and totally missed this. I use DCS The Way when in the 18 but this will be fantastic for the 14.

That ability to easily access coordinates in multiple formats is brilliant and should have been implemented a long time ago. Better Late than Never though.

😂 I just had my afternoon meds about an hour ago, but for the wholeIn a normal relationship there is closure. There is honesty, empathy, loyalty. If one or the other wants to end the relationship , they will explain the reasons why and you will understand why the relationship ended. With a narcissist you don't get anything like that. You get cheated on throughout the relationship. They make you believe they are amazing people with great qualities like honesty, empathy and loyalty. Then they all of a sudden switch up on you to show you who they truly are. Where did the love of your life go? He is a wolf in sheep's clothing. Then they want to keep you hanging on, disappearing on you and coming back later to breadcrumb you and keep you hoping, never able to give you the type of relationship you need but they expect you to always be there for the entire hour, before watching this reel. It's mesmerizing. And then, I'm like, Wait a minute... What aircraft carrier? Where is this DCC? 😅

I was just watching an older video about the Chinook and the C-130 coming up and how it will open up a lot of logistics gameplay. This warehouse management feels like it has some implications in that direction. Which I think is pretty cool.

Praise the lords. That coordinate feature is one thing I didn't know I needed, but boy am I glad they added this

A quality of life feature for this quality of life feature would be if we could click on one set of these coordinates and hide the rest, so that when we look back at the window we don't have to waste half a second finding the right coords of the set. ;) You know, like I can do with Scratchpad. I can just leave the relevant format that I will use. It's still good to have some QoL UI stuff done, gods know it was long overdue.

Would be nice if before getting into the pit there was 2D screen that would allow you do do all of this before you get in the pit. Can that coordinates window be copied and pasted into DCS DTC?

The coords stuff is nice, but that stuff should appear on the kneeboard instead. Could be more immersive

I have the open beta but don't us it. The key bingings are different than the standard release. Not all of them but some. Also, my F16 cockpit consoles on the right side are blurry.

Although this is good, I already had a mod that does this but I can store as many sets of coordinates as I want and they stay stored, even when I shut down my computer

Question… so what if I have four targets for JDAMS? If I left alt left click on the first target, can I do the same with the remaining targets and get four separate coordinate windows, or do I have to go back to the F10 map each time after entering each target to get the next set of coordinates?

How do you change the plane marker/ symbol on the F10 Map to look like a cross/ Crucifix shape? I seem to be the only one that hasn't figured this out. Thanks! :)

Waiting for a ground AI aiming fix. It's tedious creating Fire At Point commands, and those are too simple. It'd be cool if Mission Editor had a cyclic panic fire option. Like , if ground AI units still aim at you as you fly past, and their fire isn't very accurate, but they go absolutely batshit cyclic.
