You should check out the small airfield on Google Maps. It's labelled as a "Place Of Worship" and all the reviews talk about it's excellent qualities as a bombing range! The locals must be very confused by it!
I tend to prefer a 45 degree offset pop personally. At 8 or so km turn to put the steering caret 45 left or right, then pull to 45 degrees up, look towards the target to identify it, and then roll in. I find this gives you time to identify the target especially if it's in an awkward area.
