Pretty good. Only so much one can do with the Marianas map. We need WWII Marianas and a full V Nam map. Modders are spitting out cool viet-era stuff just begging for a map.
Hopefully the Vietnam map will available. It was in the 2024 teaser video so is the WWII Marianas map. The Nam map would be a cinematic creator’s dream. With the Huey, the Phantom and the Migs we already have.
DCS needs Vietnam war assets and a map badly now. More servers as well, easy rental off the website. Dynamic campaign. We need populated and dedicated servers. Cold War, Vietnam, WW2, etc. so many cool modules just need more places to use them. Great video. I’m dying for all out Nam severs.
Question. Why are the ground crew uniformed like modern day Aircraft Carrier flight deck crew? Crainials, color coded flight deck jerseys, etc. Nam was HOT! There was a reason crews were in a t-shirt and trousers on the flight line. Just my 2 cents anyways.
Answer. DCS is focused on the 90s/2000s and WW2 as its two primary time periods, naturally with a bias towards environments with lots of sand and some water to park a carrier in. There are no Vietnam War assets except for the F-4E if you give it the appropriate weapons for the time period. I think even the available MiG-21 is too new for 'Nam.
No clue why ED hasn't made a Vietnam map that would be the highest selling map to date. Once red star comes out with the MiG 17 you will have all the red air.
