Have you ever wanted to fly DCS multiplayer scenarios in a Korean War setting? The 1 (F) OTU - 1st Fighter Operational Training Unit - is the place you are looking for. Fly the F-86 Sabre or the MiG-15 in nailbiting dogfights... or pound enemy ground radar stations and provide CAS (close air support) to friendly forces with P-51 Mustang! Along with members from all four corners of the flight sim community, you will experience wingmanship like you've never seen it before. The server is a dynamic sandbox where each mission is your own and enemy fighters will try to intercept you if you venture in their air space. Wing up with a buddy or a full flight to punch a gap through the enemy team's defences!

There are some amazing pilots flying the MiG-15 in "F-86 vs MiG-15" servers. The upcoming event will be a real challenge for everyone involved.

FYI: While P-51 Mustangs were in active use in Korea, the “New” USAF used different paint schemes for them. The P-51s included in this video are from the 352nd Fighter Group which was deactivated in November 1945 - a full 5 years before The Korean War officially started. P-51 Korean liveries are and were available for the making of this video.

Sims like DCS and games like War Thunder are doing a good job of making the Korean War no longer forgotten. The only flaw I saw in your epic footage here was the mounting of a GAR-8 in one scene otherwise top notch keep up the good work.

Believe me, I don't have enough fingers to count the number of small details I wished I had changed. ;) The thing with video editing is that it can take an infinite amount of time... and even then you will still forget small details. At some point, you have to draw the line somewhere...

Fred Garcya Both are excellent machines, and overall great modules. My suggestion is to get them both on a sale. They are equally enjoyable to fly.

Leatherneck Sims did hint at "maybe" working on a F4U Corsair... And VEAO might also work on a Seafire.

The ultimate question: Sabre or MiG-15? I, personally, prefer the Sabre. :p

IMHO they are different planes built for different purposes. The MiG-15 was primarily used for interception of high-altitude bombers, while the Sabre was a pure dogfighter. At low altitudes I prefer flying the Sabre: it's slightly more nimble and has a better dive speed. At high altitudes (over 35,000 ft) I'd prefer using the MiG. As far as looks go, I like them both equally.

DCS is beautiful, but it has a prohibitively steep learning curve and price tag for add-ons and equipment (HOTAS and VR). While I greatly appreciate and respect all the labor that has gone into DCS, I really do wish there was something out there more akin to what one could find back in the late 1990s and early 2000s. Chuck Yeager Air Combat, for example, had pathetic graphics compared to modern-day sims, but it was still fun to play. I didn't have to go through actual flight school to learn how to get an F-86 off the runway (I mean, I'm not really going up against a Mig-15).
