Lmao all true. I would say one of my most cherished moments with DCUO was when heroes and villains would raid each other's HQ! Those were the fun days. Used to shout and try to get as many villains to attack the heroes lol. Hundreds of ppl show up and to the point that the pa3 couldn't even handle it. Miss it.
And do you remember the entrance to each wing in the watch tower above the teleportors their used to be a square hole/standing area in the wall. Anyone traveling with flight at speed would use these holes to get into your wing quicker. However you could travel so fast you ended up in space as the wing graphics didn't render quick enough. Solution. Remove the hole in the wall above the teleportor so now we have to fly around the wall at the entrance to each wing.
ha dont forget the old blocking system where u could tap block and it would immediately release. they took that out cause of tea bagging i believe lol.
do u remember when the Captain Cold Hoodie was worth hundreds of millions but only freemium players would get it AND they equipped it? .........DARK TIMES THEY WERE......
+MysticGods DCUO they could make everybody have bounties over there head.....Whoever is the bounty target must be chased n killed....so everybody gotta run n chase them or protect them depending on the team....It would be fun if they brought it back or something similar to it
A few things you forgot 1.) Clipping with tokens of merit 2.) whirling dervish 3.) phase dodge 4.) Marks of influence 5.) Farming CC bounties;( 6.) Iconic pvp gear and lastly 7.) Pre Mental/Gadgets revamp
I remember when this game was so good lol. I was a player from November 2011 till September 2014 but I came back in April 2015 for a couple months. Just wasn't the same. Spent too much time and money on this game but it was worth it at the time haha
I remember when if you was mental you had a power move to disguise yourself as a citizen 😁. And how being in staff you had to walk like a actual sneaky person. Awww man when gadgeteer chest was only available in the open world pvp vendors then they took it away and everybody wanted it back so badly. lol goood times indeed
I didn't start on launch day but I remember when I first started the game and I didn't know there was a difference between PvE and PvP side when you're leveling up starting off fresh in the game I kept getting killed on the pvp side in metropolis and getting teabag for fun lol
villains camping at my mission whooping all the heroes ass for fun. Then we called a big dog from the police station and he whoops the villain ass then we start a big war
Here's one major thing i remember in the old days when raids actually required two healers and controllers without the pairs their was a good chance the raid or operation would fail now its come to the point where controllers are only really needed for raids and ops no more alert runs for them.
I remember when they finally released the armor sets like Donna Troy's, with the color being space or water or a mirror. That's all you saw for MONTHS LOL
I remember the old journal, in the magic wing there was a way to leave the watch tower, the FOS 3 door glitch, the Broker not having commas and making it easy to scam people, things that are rare now once sold for a small amount (the joker head used to be worth $50,000 three years later it was worth $15,000,000 now it's worth $800-$900k at most.) No such thing as a combat rating that's it you just had to be level 30, and raid up on Tier 1 and Tier 2. Influence was also a pvp currency. The plasmic aura (og) was at a time sold for 5-15Million. Now it's sky rocketed. I can go on, I've always loved the game and it may sound a shocker but I've been playing this since I was 10, im 15 now and have more knowledge on broker deals, sales, and pvping than most adults. Thanks for the flashbacks orbit! Brings me back to thinking when Inner and FOS 2 where the hardest. Especially then when Prime came out!
Omg i remember all of this! When the game first came out i was young and dumb, barely understood the game. This is awesome knowing all of this stuff lol. Takes me back.
I miss that old auction house, I loved hanging out down their searching the broker, glitched into the floor recently and looked there, its just a black empty floor with the original robots and the name "Broker Room" would pop up when I entered there. I miss that place :(
I remember all these. I used to play on PS3. It was so much more of a grind back then to get your cr up and raids were so much harder. Now I’m back on the switch after a six year absence.
I remember when the area above the 5 main teleporters in the WatchTower (2 to Gotham, three to Metropolis) used to be open areas you could move through. The three in the corridors to the wings used to have an open area over top of them so you could fly over rather than around that piece to go to a wing. Dev's said they closed it off to force you to go around so that the servers had a lil more time to generate the world as you entered the wings (and not end up in outer space). The two in the main Central Hub still appear open, but are actually solid and you can no longer walk into the area over them anymore. No idea why they changed that.
2:50 I didn’t pay attention until now but damn, I remember when healthbars looked like that. I got so confused seeing a second number on my healthbar logging after so many years
I really like these kind of videos you make about the game when it really was fun to play even if i didn't played the game at te start i can say that the game was alot of fun then more then now, i played this game for 3-4 years now maybe less and i stille love dcuo more when it was back in the days, now everything is broken
when duo was spread across multiple servers and divided into pve in open world or pvp in open world. There was no way to phase between the two, or play with someone who signed up to a different server to you. I also remember the God awful first valentines event where we got turned into cherubs to battle whoever. Only lasted year one and eventually all the feats were given away free as it was not coming back.
You're a vet if you remember having to wait in virtual line when you logged in to play. Sometimes it would take a few secs other times would take a few mins cause everyone was trying to get in dc.
I remember back in early beta when Black Lighting, Black Canary and 1 more I dont remember were Justice League faction vendors in the Watchtower. Also remember when the launch date for DCUO was NOV2010.
I remember the one with group invites, those were so annoying,God dang, probably worse when it comes to being popular I guess because people want you in there group.
1 thing everyone who is a fan of Orbit remembers: The videos without ''Yo guys, This is Orbit here, TGN and welcome to another [Insert game here] video!'' xD
I've been playing DCUO for such a long time, but I don't remember a lot of things because I was ignorant to them. I just played the game, I didn't do any of the extra stuff people did. But, yeah, I've been playing DCUO since like end 2011 beginning 2012. But, I do remember having to count down in the ques with my friends. I also remember /everyone/ would t bag after killing someone in PVP.
The major change that ruined the game for me was before weapon mastery when they shorted the hold range attack for hand blasters, duel wield, and one handed
I miss when Mental was a decent DPS power. Then little by little they messed with it. First, they increased the cast time on Telekinetic Bolt until it was completely useless, especially after level 30. One of my guilty pleasures was lifting up a few baddies using Mass Levitation when blasting them with TK Bolt. Then, they took away Illusory Forms. I used to love transforming into a civilian and walking back and forth in front of the villain safehouses completely incognito, especially back when PVP phases were still around. Since then, Mental is completely useless to the point I don't even see it around anymore.
I remeber putting groups together back in the day specifically fos2 even prime and having everyone meet at phase shifter or any said so spot in the watch tower for gear checks and inspections to verify cr and survivability not to mention I remember having multiple trolls in raid to keep the oh so power hungry hardlight and fire dps burning when dps actually took work and no one loadout was best
It's not something the devs changed, but I remember on EUPS people always wanted you to come to the meta wing to get inspected before alerts and raids. Everyone would be infront of the old mark of distinction armour set and you could get invited to a raid just by standing there.
Nostalgia overload ^^ For me personally the phase dodge change was one of the biggest because i simply loooved it for pve. Oh and taking the nature dinosaur transformation away :``(. Ahh the good old days when I was still playing.
I remember u hiding up near the ceiling in the moon base pvp waiting 4 my fire tank to set villians alight so you could finish them of...ahhh good times...
As a Vet, I never really realized how fucking late the Devs were to sooo many things. It took them years to put an Ignore towards something. Even things not put in this game like League bases, League Management, things that other MMOs have off the bat...
I know this one isn't really a way back throw back but, being able to be walked into the higher tier raids when you were a fresh lvl30 to get top gear to raise your CR by 10 to 20.
Remember the hard light power than Wars a brick wall?, and when hovering you press X to gain altitude and the character rise in the same possition than un hover?...
about HL it made me think of the Lantern deputization decrees being purchasable from one of the regular game vendors. I still have 3 or 4 spread across all of my toons...
I remember when we would get raided by heroes there where enough villains to come out and de raid them for at least an hour before we group up to raid them in return.
