I know the devs made a big deal about this episode getting a September release, but it looks like they needed another month or two. Talk about having your cornbread all gooey in the middle.

I seem to remember the new creative director saying Episode 48 will be something new and a different approach to a DLC. I was excited, seeing what the new staff would come up with. What the hell happened to that? One dead raid with 2 bosses? This game is done and it’s sad, game had hella potential

This was the last dlc they worked on before everyone got fired..ill be surprised if a update after this one..

Nice vid! If there is one thing I can praise from what I've seen so far of this episode, is that the artists have tried with the instances to make it look visually fairly different compared with several other recent episodes.

At this point i think they are just releasing "dps comp" friendly elite raids to keep the sweats happy, same boring shit!

14:30 I don't personally have an issue with the devs reusing the green stack marker mechanic from SWE or CTE+ last boss, its more that the devs aren't doing anything with it to make it interesting. The way it is being implemented feels like an afterthought. In FFXIV there is a large variety of content that utilises stack markers differently. From timing stack markers with other strict positioning mechanics, to delaying the onset of the impact of the stack marker by having the boss mess with time, to multiple impacts from the same stack marker. Having two players share damage from a specific attack. Lots more examples.They keep it interesting in content where it appears, especially in savage/ultimate content. A variation of this mechanic is the Dispersal Wave mechanic that first boss in the anniversary raid does, where it fires a beam and players have to stand in it to split the incoming damage. I would much rather the devs implement ways to make mechanics like this interesting and fresh with new content releases rather than leave it as an afterthought and throw adds on everything.

And they didn't even get to finish the update before they fired them..lol

I don't like that they released this so soon. Unless you use replay badges or only do elite versions, there isn't enough time to get enough currency to finish two sets of the armor and the omnipotence piece. They cut the time we usually have between episodes by half, so if you got the previous elite armor, you're replacing it with the first trash piece you get here. I'm not sure why they thought that was a good idea, especially when people have been complaining about this game's bugs, lag, and glitches for years.

Yo obsidian, isn’t this the last dlc that mepps and the old team worked on? Would that mean the next dlc would be the new teams input on the game? I’m curious to see what they bring to the table.

It feels like that season from House MD, when they had to rush stuff because of the writers' strike. Except House is a great show, and DCUO is DCUO.

There's also no reason why they don't make Kalibak a boss fight as well, like with Mordru in Shattered Gotham. Or at least get Kalibak down to 25% health and then the cutscene triggers.

I’m honestly fine being that’s it’s smaller cuz This dlc came fast. I think it’s a smaller one because it’s guna move into save the universe shortly after maybe at the end of year. Raid looks cool tho aesthetic wise

I don't understand the dislike for the current episode. I much prefer it to JLDC. This one looks like it will be ok but not great. I think I'll be on Brainiac Returns for a while and only do the new one for the marks/gear.

I really hope the devs are paying attention to not only your videos, but the overwhelming disapproval across various social media platforms. I literally want them to sit in a room together and talk about the perception of this game. I would love to eavesdrop on that conversation because they clearly seem lost. Yes there was a strike of some sort, but, if McDonald's was set on fire, don't serve the burgers then. 🤷

This episode has only one raid but only has two boss fights. At 2:40 , general Kraze should of been a “ boss fight with loot” , even you mentioned it obsidian, that room could of been one. That a miss opportunity by dcuo game having another bossfight in the raid.

I’m starting to notice that the people who say this game is dying or dead are the ones who only run content and never fight each other because that’s most of the fun of grinding to beat other characters xenoverse doesn’t drop anything exciting and the game is still running 8 years later and gta5 is the epitome of how to add more and keep it creative but this is a different style of game where you have so much to work with where people who’ve played it since launch just get mad about everything especially when new players hop on grind or buy their characters to op and end up beating them up cause this game is still decent if you enjoy the competition of fighting other players and taking on elites
