It’s quite an underrated DAC. People often overlook it due to the lack of features, eg. no buttons, no companion app. But the output is incredible. It’s a neutral and technical DAC without coloration. Improves clarity and instrument separation, and it has low noise level. If you want to know the true potential of your IEMs, get this.
I own the TC44B and I really love the sound of it, I've tried some other Portable solutions. I had some issues with other DACs because of interferences with my iPhone :( The good old 90s feeling, with the buzzing noise. No problems with the ddHifi TC44B, or the iBasso DC04. The other ones were bigger portable solutions with build in battery (iFi HipDAC, Hidizs DH80s..). I guess the TC44B is basically the same like the TC44C? I only want to upgrade because of the detachable cable und the 3.5mm option. I'm considering the Xduoo as well, but I guess the ssHifi is the safest option, because of interference? Is there a huge difference in sound between the ddHifi and the xDuoo?
The difference in sound quality is not great. I personally prefer the xDuoo for the onboard controls. You should also check out the Shanling UA3 too though - that is really nice.
My experience with the S9 Pro on my iPhone: it tends to clip and cut out above about 70% of full volume. I can drive the TC44B (ddHiFi's previous model) to 85% or higher without any clipping or cutting out. This kind of negates the higher output of the S9 Pro on my iPhone...
Honestly, I'd have a hard time picking them in a blind test, they sound very similar. If I had to choose one it would be L2B but only because of the buttons!
@@PrimeAudioReviews you mean to say tc44c is better than tempotec e44 then. I have both e44 and L2B but L2B is superior in separation and sound stage. E44 is smartly priced but bit agressive and digital sounding where L2B is near analogue justified the price. I can feel the L2B superiority when playing very busy tracks like metal quiet beat e44. And if you bring in power output l2b is again upper hand.
plz help me, i want to buy a DAC with eardphone for trance, Ambient , house, electro, Downtempo style music , what model of DAC and eardphone do you think I should buy under $ 500 ,also maybe under $600 ??
Same sound signature as the ddHiFi TC44B (the "matcha cheese")? I think that has all the same technical specs as the TC44C, but has a 2.5mm balanced instead of the 3.5mm unbalanced jack.
I would like to know that, too. I want to upgrade to the TC44C just because of the 3.5mm jack and the cable solution. I hope they sound the same, because the matcha cheese sounds amazing for me!
Unfortunately this is limited edition and I can't find other dacs as compact as this with un/balanced output and not flylead. Is there any dac you would suggest that has slight warmth and a compact one under 200?
The s3 pro sounds almost as good but it has mqa support and mic as you said. The main advantage of the tc44c imo is the balanced output but only if you have balanced cables and /or need the extra power.
Don't try buying these. They're only available through aliexpress and aliexpress will rip you off. I tried to cancel my order after my address got garbled by their autofill and they are totally unresponsive. I'll follow up if they actually come through with a refund. It's a shame, I was really looking forward to getting these.
Hi 👋😉. To be honest I dont like sound of those dd hifi tc05 cables very much. They sound too harsh. It is unfair to compare it to some expensive usb (audioquest carbon) cables though. Those dacs are held back by the cables they came with. They dont sound on a full potential. Even the cheapest audioquest pearl usb cable would help. But those cables are also always too long for portable solutions 😒.
