I lived in Dublin from '75 to '79 when all this was happening, best years of my life. What a great band...but wouldn't have been quite as great without Alec's amazing bouzouki accompaniment.

Such great musicians. Love De Danann. Great set of tunes. Love the unique Framus banjo sound, best around in its day. Thanks for uploading.

I met them in California, lovely people! This band so impressed me!! I had a chance to live in Ireland for a couple years, I was so excited to go to the land of this fantastic music! Well, I never left, and have lived here now for 30 years. Love Ireland, love the music and art! Love De Dannan!

Quite impossible. The tensions between Frankie and Alec are too high.

Actually, bands playing at that level exist, of course. For instance : ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-5SmrPpH04Bk.html

Johnny Moynihan, the man who introduced the bouzouki into irish folk music, can't really get it going here. Finally he gives in and retreats to the bodhran.

Listen to this and wake up all you young irishmen. Does not this sound a lot nicer, before Gerry Connor-influnce and strange chording?
