Everything is SO expensive and it stresses me out so much because I cant leave the grocery store without over spending…and it’s NECESSITIES. So I dont want ANY OF YOU buying products that are flat out NOT WORTH IT!

Tbh I know the beauty blender is very popular but I hate applying products with it. I think the sponge is a product waster and I much prefer applying products, especially thinner, hydrating products with my fingers or brushes.

I got the Mario skin enhancer (my first Mario product) on the recommendation of a “trusted” RU-vidr who raved about how amazing this product is, and it’s a 👎🏻 for all the reasons you said. Unfortunately return policy in Australia is not like USA so I can’t return it to get my money back but it’s a lesson learned not to trust some RU-vidrs, not to assume all makeup at Sephora is good quality, and not to buy Mario products again. If a brand is hit and miss then it’s off the menu for me.

Ok, I had to stop your video, girl, and scream into the ether, again, about the Makeup Forever new reformulated concealer. I have one more bottle left of the old formula, and it is one of my fave concealers. I am shade 10, as my complexion is the shade of white paper, and I was so upset when I saw they reformulated. Now, I will never know if I even like the reformulation, because they NO LONGER have a shade that is near light enough for me. I was concerned that was what would have happened, and when I went into Sephora a couple weeks ago, I saw I was right. So sad….thanks for doing a video like this! I completely agree that grouping them together in the same way as a favorites video will help me make informed decisions!! ❤❤

@@ImMalloryBrooke Definitely! I have Crohn’s Disease, which is technically an immune disorder, and I don’t absorb nutrition/fluids well. My under eyes are drier than sand and I NEVER use powder to set anything. To have a self-setting concealer that wasn’t hella dry, and in my shade was a godsend! Hence, all the screaming into the ether!!😂

I at first liked the Summer Friday balm but as time passed I noticed it actually dried my lips more than before. Instead, the Milani Fruit Lip Oil is so much better. They actually moisturize my lips and have a more of a jelly texture.

Love these type of videos 😏Thank you SO much for mentioning fragrances of products!! Some will say "It smells good" but what does good mean?? That's subjective. Describe the scent please? (The way you said "Citronella") As someone who suffers multi-day debilitating migraines, this is major. I have to avoid shopping in-store because of all the combined fragrances in the air. It's not like I can go around sniffing products in person without it setting me back three days. I rely on companies like Hourglass, LM and Nars who don't use heavy perfumes and of course, content creators. You have saved me money on the BB tint and the Summer Fridays which were in my cart. Why they add perfume to lip products and worst of all eye products, I will never know! So. Fellow hooded eye gal here, returned the Huda bc it actually smudged and flaked *under* my eyes! I have the driest eyes ever and set my concealer with powder always. I am tired of those who ride hard (usually Brits) for CT and Lisa Eldridge no matter what. LE lipsticks break. Her eyeshadows crease badly. I noticed people rarely reuse LE products after launch. Just one example. Certain young creators who never do wear tests or say anything negative act like they're positive, but it's bc they're just afraid to offend the brand and stop receiving PR. When they don't like something they say "I don't know" a lot and they'll update but never do. There are certain MUAs whom I love to watch apply makeup but I have sadly learned not to trust their word bc they like everything. Especially first impressions bc the cut is bigger within the first week/month of release. I understand it's a commissioned business and when I click on a video I'm fully prepared to be influenced but how can they like EVERYthing? I could rant on for another ten minutes but needless to say... SUBSCRIBED! 🙌 I look forward to more of these 👏YAY!!

The bare minerals complexion rescue was something i was super excited to try and when i eventually got it, it made my face look like a sandy old flip flop. Same with the Laura mercer loose powder, i do not get the hype at all. An eyeshadow that i absolutely love though is the bodyography glitter pigment in celestial- and that is high praise from a non eyeshadow wearer. Not that any of them products are new releases but there’s my 10 cents

Could it be your skin type or your skincare routine? You may not get the hype because it doesn't work for you, however, the bare minerals complexion rescue is one of my weekly day to day go-to's. It could also be the method you used to apply the product. Wondering if any of these points could have helped you out when you tried it...

The HD skin concealer is the only concealer I've ever worn in my ENTIRE life that didn't dry out my under eyes, stick to the skin, enhance my dry skin or fine lines, crease, look heavy. For me, it is straight PERFECTION. I have such a hard time with concealer and this is my holy grail

I got the Huda Beauty mascara and while it was ok AT FIRST upon opening it, it seemed to get worse and worse over time. I had it for a whole 2 weeks and ended up returning it today.

Most concealers don’t work.I hated the tower 28 concealer! The new two faced blush smelled terrible.I didn’t like the Mario skin enhancer I returned it!

I’m wearing the by Mario skin enhancer as I watch this😂 I love it! I am fair skinned and have mature skin. I applied it with a BKbeauty brush and feel like it adds subtle bronziness with a light glow.

@@ImMalloryBrooke oh I also use a bk beauty brush to apply it. Don't care for it with a sponge which is my usual preferred tool. I like either the small round buffing brush for a darker application or the Angie larger angled face brush for a lighter application, then I use the same brush for highlighter after and they blend together so pretty. Besides the light, transparent application (and that I almost can't even see it at all!), I also really like how it dries down/sinks into the skin. It doesn't stay greasy on me at all and never messes up other products or removes my makeup or gets hair stuck in it. But it also isn't drying at all.

You're absolutely right, applying that concealer with your fingers is MUCH better than brushes or sponge--because the formula is just SO light (it's creamy, but once you blend it out, it's still pretty sheer). It didn't crease on me, wears well, and is generally a solid product , but I found it has to be paired with the right foundation. It's basically the concealer equivalent of a skin tint, and it works really well with lighter applications of complexion products like CC cream or light foundations. Anything heavier, and it just doesn't feel like it offers enough coverage. For someone like me who *loathes* the feeling of complexion products on my face, and doesn't wear makeup daily, it's lovely, but I definitely feel a little "naked" on days when I need to look/feel more put-together and "finished".

Also, unrelated: thank you SO much for putting complexion products through an actual sweat test. I'm a beauty photographer who, ironically, hates wearing makeup, and when I'm on set, it's like an 8+ hour medium intensity workout where I need to look "presentable" (i.e., wear makeup). I'm forever looking for unicorn products that don't seem to exist: longwearing, sheer-to-light complexion products that don't feel like I'm wearing makeup. I've definitely skipped over a bunch of things because you showed they wouldn't meet my needs. (Currently auditioning some Chanel because the Dior Backstage reformulation is *horrendous*)

It's hard, because as a female beauty photographer, I'm not just the producer, I'm the audience, so I have to look like I care about the products I'm shooting, or at least that I understand them. It's like going to a dermatologist with bad skin--sure, they might still be really good at their job, but you'd probably trust a dermatologist with great skin more. But someday, I'll find it.

Man I thought it was just me with those Charlotte Tilbury liquid lipsticks. It sucks cause I really wanted to like them. I love the flame and honey shades especially, and they feel good on my lips. But like you said they smear and bleed, and no matter what lipliner I use. For a $35 lipstick I expect it to stay in place and feel good, not just one or the other.

Hi Mal! I’m loving the new Nudestix blushes that came out with the matte color outside and a glowy highlighter in the center. It doesn’t that glowy IMO but the blush is really pretty! I got the Ulta exclusive shade Blush Bling, a warm rosey shade. Def check them out! I was also curious about the Summer Fridays blush sticks but will be skipping for sure! ❤❤❤

I recently tired the Hauslabs Triclone skin tech foundation I absolutely love it I also love the makeupfoever reboot foundation as well both are beautiful stays one all day I also love the Shiseido Synkro concealer my top favorite concealer. Now for the products I hated self caring foundation revlon skin, caring foundation it lines cling to my dry patches that were time was horrible and the make up revolution irl filter concealer it was one of the worst concealers I’ve ever tried from the drugstore, so drying under my eyes creased horribly absolutely awful.

I wasn't crazy about the MBM bronzer either. Is it nice? Yes. It's like no-bronzer bronzer. But it didn't last and I felt it was overhyped as most MBM products are. The blushes were nice but not my favorite.

Actually love the huda mascara for me really makes my lashes long, i have hooded eyes I haven't noticed and smudging or flaking on my self I hate the pat McGrath foundation and concealer that everyone seems to love I also dont like the fenty eaze drop maybe bc my skins more mature I dont know I prefer the laura gellar skin quench for a skin tint

Mallory, do you have ANY idea how much money you have saved me?! Before I buy ANY complexion product I look to see if you have tried it. Some Scented products are so gross! I appreciate this round up. When I worked for Clinique as a PC my first thought when I heard my customers say this product doesn’t work is, ‘how did you apply it?’ There are just some products that don’t work but, I like to try application in different methods before I give up. I don’t work at a counter anymore but, when my Property Management coworkers ask somebody what foundation they are wearing, I cringe. I’m always popping up saying,wait what kind of skin type do you both have. You can take the girl out of the makeup counter but, you can’t take the makeup counter out of the girl! 😂

I have tried the one coat mascara and I actually really like it. My eyes are quite hooded as well. Typically I prefer tubing mascara ( my holy grail is Hourglass). But I was curious about Huda. I quite liked it, no flaking or smudging and nice easy removal.

the thrive causemetics tubing mascara is soooo good; i have hooded eyes too, it is the only thing that doesnt smear and transfer even after a 12hr shift. the milani knockoff is good too!

I bought the YSL Lashstack mascara… it gave me volume but no lenght at all. It lasts all day and doesn’t smudge, but my lashes looks short and stubby. Just to use it up, I have to pair it with a lengthening mascara to make it ”work”.

Love your videos and your honesty! I loved the MBM skin enhancer. I did not get the powder bronzer/highlighter that was also released with it. As I am getting older I like lighter more natural makeup and I thought it went on easily, blended well and looks natural and could be used as brontour!

I'm not a fan of the Danessa Myricks yummy skin tint. I know alot of people seem to like it but for me it's not smoothing and stays tacky which I really don't like! I prefer a bit more coverage too.

I had an allergic reaction to that SF lip balm... massive itching and rash and the scent, ugh. Also unpopular opinion...had to give away the Kosas Revealer Foundation and concealer...the scent was jyst nauseating to me. On the other hand, I truly love the MBM skin enhancer/bronzer...just an easy to use, always consistent product for me. I apply it with the Anisa cream bronzer/contour brush.
