Me too…I loved this performance, Dave Chapelle always knew good music. I’m now realizing as a 31 year old what this song meant now though this been my favorite performance for years since a kid? De La was telling us with this song it’s “so much more” out here for us to be doing 🥹. #RIPPlug2
X3 De La inspired me in so many ways. Even when Pos is my favorite De La member, Trugoy was one of my greatest heroes of all time. R.I.P Plug 2 and shoutout to Plug 1 and Plug 3 for changing my life.
By far my most favorite musical guest performance from Chappelle's Show. Such a smooth beat and a profound message, it really hits home. Every time I listen to it, it takes me back to my middle school days in 2003/2004, such simpler times and cherished memories from my youth.
Me too, De La Soul is the truth. I just wished I was more opened to them man. Now all I wanna do is just represent them. Dave Chapelle let them perform without saying a word but bobbing to them 🥹. Watched this 10 times today shit hurt me. They are the definition of grown man rap 💯! #RIPPlug2 #DeLaSoul
It's been days since I heard of Dave's passing, and I'm still messed up over this. His death serves as a reminder of just how short life really is and how much his beautiful presence and meaningful words of wisdom will be sorely missed. De La Soul 4eva!!!! R.I.P TRUGOY. 🙏
Dave was is and will always be about that real hip hop. That's why his show is the best show that hit tv, even till this day. Just watching these old dave show clips brings alot of nostalgia
Dilla killed this... Rest In Peace TRUGOY y'all really made my childhood,I was that unorthodox kid in the hood...The Grind Date was in the 5th Grade...
RIP Dave. RIP Dilla. Two stars that epitomize HIP HOP MUSIC. Appreciate the greats while they here, I can safely say, I always did when it came to De La Soul, one of the greatest groups ever!
Still Rocking this in 2022! Thanks Dave for putting on the Best show with The Best Comedic talent and live Hip Hop Musical guest on TV Bro. Here's your Flowers. De La has always been one of my favorite groups.
Woww! I saw this episode the very first time i smoked bud as a teenager. The way they were looking into the camera and the songs message scared me! I really thought they were talking directly to me.🤣🤣🤣
I remember watching this episode new and loving the performance. I forgot who the band was for many years and always was searching on youtube to figure it out. I could never remember who the band was and took the longest to figure out. Glad I remembered it somehow through the years, and glad it's still up. I'd love to see a HD version. BTW how the FFFF is there not even 1000 views of this for damn 10+ years!?!?
Probably because for good while there had been a few other versions of this video available on RU-vid. Looks like someone required them to take those down because when I wanted to hear this clip today and searched for it, I couldn't find the one that had millions of views
I've been listening to De La Soul since I was a child, and I'm 44. They've been around, just do a deep dive, friend. For something to start with that's universal, try "Breakadawn" or "Me, Myself and I". You can't go wrong, happy crate digging!! 💯🔥
Remember been in Atl. It's was De la Soul, Mos Def' Talib Kweli,Common Young Kanye and Black eye peas.. That show was amazing. Real Hip hop that night.
In high school as a freshman year( 2000 ) I was misunderstood for understanding , This skit/song gave me chills today .. I’ve grew so much but this was the seed that was planted #DELASOUL RiH TruGoy 1 of the dopest to ever touch the mic 🎤
One house two house 3rd house rules so house take bank watch Dave bank batter hadem on the hawk since Atlanta extravaganza gamma ray rap ah make the Hulk snap🔥🔥🔥🔥 Miss you Dave
The first time I saw this I was 12 years old. At 32 I see this with different eyes! Dave Chapelle was always about good music on his show with real artists from emcees to singers. This performance on a tour bus was legendary. It’s like them performances that’s too real but simple. De La Soul i wished gave a chance when I was younger. Since Trugoy gone I feel I done a disservice to them. I respect them as legends and it’s nothing like a message in a song! They weren’t gangsters or nothing but more about the positivity of hip hop and storytelling. Dave in this was meditating the lyrics for of them and Yummy. I honestly miss Dave so much (real heads know what I mean)! Now it’s just a memory but I’m glad this performance happened. #RIPTrugoy
