I’m gonna have to agree with British standard on common etiquette on this. Boundaries need to be set otherwise you just have to accept these veiled sniping attempts that a) are simply wrong (de ligt hasn’t accepted a sizeable lower wage in comparison to our other targets) and b) tries to conceal itself as a constructive comment but is really just implying that he hasn’t done his homework). People need to wake the **ck up and show some level of respect.

This Brainthwaite deal has Maguire vibes written all over it. Personally I'd say if Utd can sell of Maguire, Lindelof & Kambwala, we should get both De Ligt & Brainthwaite but if otherwise, De Ligt is the more already-made solution which what Utd need at the moment.

This video is a miss for me, i disagree with everything here, it's your opinion soo fair enough....how on God's green earth do you think a guy who is 21 or 22 and had one season in the EPL cost £70M is better than a guy who has had 8 season for top flight clubs and has only missed 33 gsmes in those 8 seasons who is available for less than £50M including add-ons and he's 24 and won multiple trophies .....maybe you wanna be controversial or something and that's fine. But this ain't it chief. Juve sold him cos thry had to balance their books cos of covid losses and bayern *who know what they're doing in terms of decision making* Objectively speaking Branthwaite isnt on his lvl. But i still have to give you a like, as i respect the grind and content you put out. Looking forward to the next video

Mate you’ve missed the point completely. Never said he was better than De Ligt or that he was worth £70m. If United want a versatile CB who can play across the back line and in a high line than Branthwaite is clearly a better option. you’re ignoring the tactical side of things and injuries. Also he has won trophies? So? Terrible way of judging players. Saying he has had one good season is a lazy argument. Bellingham had one good season the other year, so by you’re logic we wouldn’t sign him. Diomonde isn’t on De Ligt’s level right now but by next year he might be better than him. You have to judge players by how good they are going to be in the next 3 seasons at least, not just the last 3 seasons

@@AtlantisFootball yeah but there's context to the argument of Jude after 1 season in Madrid and he's on track for a Ballon dor why? Should we discount the 1 sesson ? He was instrumental in that 1 season and won actual trophies for the club . Soo its not a lazy argument when there's actual context applied. De ligt played with ten Hag, played with Nagelsman and yet he can't play higher? Even De ligt is coming on a lower salary and the bill quoted is £42m.. don't expect Braithwaite to earn higher than a De ligt either.

@@allenmichael3163 didn’t say he can’t but ten Hag did not use as high a line at Ajax as he’ll have to at United. De Ligt’s salary and signing on/agent fee has to be factored in. Have to wait till the details come out.

Brainthwaite to me seems like a maguire situation... it would be us overpaying for a CB who has not shown the ability to play at a top team and who might be getting made to look better because of the system and team mates, tarkowski for him and evans for Maguire. Also 70 mill is silly we cant hinestly be saying hes 20 milliom more than de ligt. Lastly de ligt brings leadership, experiemce and pedegree

I keep saying the same thing. Brainthwaite feels like another Maguire situation. He looks good playing for a low table Everton. It doesn't mean he'll do well under high pressure at United so paying that much for him is a disaster waiting to happen

Yes but that’s kind of unfair because you’re not analysing Branthwaite individually, just comparing him to Maguire because they are both English. You could easily compare him to VVD at Southampton or even players like Saliba or Rudiger at Chelsea

I'm not saying Brainthwaite will be a flop like Maguire I'm saying his individual resume isnt proven enough at the style of play Ten Hag wants so at 60 to 70 mil it's too much of a risk like Maguire where if we got him at 40 mil it would've been more ok

You all like de Ligt, as I do. de Ligt his passing is impressive, and he captained Ajax in to a Champions League semi final. He is strong in the air, technically gifted and has leadership in him. I think he certainly will be a good addition to the Manchester United squad. Now on his injury record remains a doubt, was that just out of badluck or will it be a more common thing to keep in account?

For me De Ligt is a better player for United right now because he is ready to play at a high level, ready to be a starter at s Premier League top 4 side. Brantwaith would be good to he the first off the bench because of his versatility and potential.

the age difference is only 2 years. De Ligt is proven at the top and has played in different leagues and more importantly is known by the gaffer.... Jarrad is promising but Everton are not willing to change the price. The times of united getting bullied in the market are over

Branthwaite is overrated imo. He has potential but he is not worth 70mil or even 50mil. And you said that branthwaites long passing is better than de light but I don't agree whenever I have watched him his technique looks awful uses power more than precision. And is shit in possession losses the ball easily under any sort of pressure. Needs more development alot of development.

Forget Branthwaite. We need 3 decent centre backs, as injury and suspension can happen at any time. Maguire will never leave, as his salary is too high. There is the French 18 year old, or Diomande. Maguire as 4th choice, for League cup games or if Martinez needs a rest.

De Ligt is pretty much in it's final stages. He's agreed to join us on a 5 year deal whilst taking a wage cut in the process. He only wants a move to us. As for Branthwaite that deal isnt gonna happen even more so now Everton have sold Onana to Villa for 50m. They want at least 70m+ for Branthwaite which we will not pay. Time to move onto other targets

I think united should go for Jhon Lucumi from Bologna as LCB...he is similar to Lisandro but taller and he was one of their standout players last ssn...he also had 4 good ssns in Belgium league before his move in 2022

Braithwaite is not ball playing CB, he can play long ball Yes, but not even better than lindelof. I believe we are signing a physical defender to boost our strength. Not very good at passing(looks awkward in fact) Can't pass line breaking passes. He is a great box defender and he is fast. Deligt brings in the leadership the varane occupied He is strong emotional, fast and a goal threat plus very experienced 24 year old. But he is injury prone

De Ligt is the alternative for Todibo. Ball playing RCB. Yoro is the alternative for Branthwaite for sweeper. I think we're looking at a back three.

De Ligt over Brainthwaite any day of the week. De Ligt will come and partner Licha. Brainthwaite is left footed which is an area covered by Licha already. The English lad is overpriced (as always).

We should sign both a left and right footed centre back this summer. My choices are de ligt and Inacio/Tah Also why isn't united trying to sign koopmeiners. He could play all parts of the midfield and his passing is similar to Bruno and De Bruyne. He would be perfect in a double pivot with Mainoo and also give us that extra cutting edge in big games compared to a Mainoo/Amrabat or Mainoo/Casemiro combination.

Look i also think that de light is not the best we can get and he is somewhat slow also but he has a plenty of experience would also be enthusiastic to revive his career as one of the best cb and also he will cost 42m+ add ons and has agreed to lower his salary(though it will not be very less) but brainthwaite move is just utter sh*t cause brainthwaite is worth 25 mill but de light is also the one who can best compliment licha as for injuries there is no player who doesnt get injured nowadays but we should also sign a pacy cb and someone who can make line breaking passes but lets see what eth has planned for de light next season

If am comparing de ligt to the likes of Bremer and Simakan, I will take either of the later two. However if am comparing him to Braithwaite, am taking de ligt all day. He is better overall. The biggest warry is his injury record, but i think he is still capable of playing 30+ games, while offering more than Braithwaite. Also, am surprised that we aren't atleast looking at Diomande.

I think for 42M quid for De Ligt is a very good deal. Its not Arnold and Murtaugh doing our business now, its a world class footballing team plus Romano said it more than once already, we´re sigining two CBs.

I think it's clear that United are going to sign 3 CBs after Kambwala leaves. 2 RCB and 1 LCB. I would sign De Ligt and Yoro/Diomande for RCB and Hancho/Hincapie/Lucumi/Calafiori/Pacho/Inacio for LCB (preferably hybrid type who can cover LB in case of Shaw/Malacia injuries while waiting for Amass to be ready to become the starting LB). I think Maguire and Lindelof are definitely going to be sold because they have 1 year left and United don't see them as a long-term project.

@@AtlantisFootball Branthwaite is a better traditional defender, but I think Kilman can be more modern in playing style than Branthwaite.. The fbref seems to support this..

@@AtlantisFootball none of Uniteds fullbacks are good enough. Even though Dalot is overall a better player, its not like AWB horrible If United didnt have AWB, Newcastle would've won the league cup

@@AtlantisFootball Dalot is average at most things, he is solid but not good enough. If he actually provided more of a threat going forward, then sure but man is bottom 40% of fullbacks for xA Legitimately how does the superior ball playing fullback have the same assists as AWB who played less games Dalot is a better footballer but when you dont actually deliver whats the point of looking tidy on the ball?
