DE'LONGHI MAGNIFICA S Coffee Machine NOT WORKING - Can I Fix it? 

That $45 bottle of Sealy thread lock is money down the drain. It has limited uses for the average person outside an emergency. The red & blue Loctite can be used on anything. The red does a little better job “locking” threads but is still easy to break.

Great fix and video, I could smell that lovely coffee. TIP : when you need to unscrew something with Loctite, like this case, you heat the screw, or the bolt , so the Loctite will melt and it's easier to undone.

I made a short video 4 years ago concerning how to purg the air from a Kourg Coffee maker that will not work. I an still getting comments thanking me for making that one video and it gets more views than all my hobby videos combined. I have found small stones in my coffee that could easily jam that grinder.

Best thing to with a wound like yours is soak it in some warm salty water for a bit, dab it or leave it to dry, recover it, do this once a day it will heal in no time, my elderly mother swears by it, she got a thorn right up into the under part of her finger nail and it went pretty horrible, she did the salt thing and after a few days it healed with out a trace so I've always done this since and it works wonders, I usually just use table salt but other people say use this or that but to me salt is salt. Also if you just leave it covered for days it will get damp naturally form sweat etc and start to smell bad so, if you follow my advise, id love to see the result.

Silflex became the de facto treatment for pressure or bed sores in older people wards, I used to be the scourge of bedsores in my day, carpeted staff who allowed pressure sores to build up and had a pretty aggressive turning regime on my wards and irritated nursing managers for insisting on full complement of lambswool pads for immobile patients which hit their budgets as not cheap. Pressure sores can easily become very dangerous to human health, blood poisoning and gangrene if left untreated and all it takes is a minute to turn patient from one side to other regularly and its usually night staff who offend most at not doing it.

Mayb it was always a bit loose and never got tightened. This may work for a long while, unless or you eat the timingbelt away, or it get so much play it completely derails.

Finger is healing so well, but that nail is going to be weird for a long time.... Ask me how I know 😮 ouch. Heat is the way to destroy loctited...

To adjust the cup size when you dispense a cup, you press the button, HOLD the button till you have dispensed the needed liquid, then release. That memorizes your cup size. Next time you dispense a cup, it will be your new memorized size. This works for both dispenser buttons.

Great fix but have you put the gear on upside down as it appears to have a collar on it to stop the belt ring up ?

Great fix Vince! I have had a magnifica s for about 5 years and I love it!! Use it every single day. Never gave me a seconds issue.

I had the same injury about 12 years ago now when a 3 tone drill landed on me finger. took a few months to start using it again and was numb for a while took a few years to be back to normal but all good now cheers, glad you had an easy fix to the coffee machine :)

That's a beautiful machine Vince. Obviously I haven't watched to the end yet but I do hope you fix it. A machine that grinds and uses ground coffee is a wonderful kitchen addition. I love it when you succeed in fixing your stuff you buy and I look forward to watching you fix this coffee machine and a Delongi at that too. Yes coffee beans go mouldy after a period of time so freezing them prevents it for a while, same with tea it keeps its flavour if you freeze the leaves, or so I have been told.
