I made a bunch of eye shadows using TKB liquid pressit binder and matte texture medium (wrong stuff?) most of mine are staying pressed except for the really glittery ones also. I'm going to try press it powder binder on those instead. Also, I watched a BUNCH of different videos trying to find out different processes and one gal used TKB's blueberry cutie pie clamshell containers to mix it all up in, then scrape it out into the pan and then drop it onto the table to level the top. I tried both that method and the small plastic bag mixing method, and the cutie pie containers was much faster and easier. I first added the powders to the container and shook it really good to mix them, then added the liquid ingredients, mixed really well with manicure tool, then scrape into pan...worked great!
Kimberly Adamson Yes, I like the small containers better than the baggies, I need to get some. One subscriber got bead containers from the dollar store. I'm going to include the recipe for the bases I used later this afternoon. I don't know if you're interested in trying those but I can tell you, my results were just as good with the bases I formulated as the pre made base from TKB.
I will have to check out those containers at the dollar store! I've used all my TKB blueberries and need to get more. I want to make a bunch of matte eye shadows now as well. I saw a bunch of beautiful clays on TKB website that I would like to try to press as well, I'll have to see how that turns out. Thank you for including your pressing mix recipe, and for doing so much research into making this work. I love doing these kind of projects because it appeals to the scientist in me ( I'm a Med Tech in a medical microbiology lab), and also allows the creative side to some out as well!

I sure am grateful for your videos. I am just learning. And am devouring any info I can. I am having a lot of trouble pressing my pressed powders. They always crack, whether or not they are matte or shimmery. Do you have any words of wisdom about how to avoid the cracking? thanks so much.

The reason these pigments don't do well pressed is because they aren't eyeshadows, they're eyeshadow ingredients. On the makeup websites like coastal scents or tkb trading include additional products that cause the eyeshadows to both hold together better and to behave better on the skin.
Laynie Fingers Yes, you're absolutely right. I was following instructions I had seen online from other youtube videos. I have since through trial and error and the help of my viewers, learned a lot. Mineral make up is a new venture/hobby. I know I still have plenty to learn, and am looking forward to trying the matte shadows next.

I was the girl who asked the question😊 I noticed you didn't add the my mix base that's why I commented. So what I use is my mix press base and then I add 6 -8 drops of binder and it works for me... Thanks for video keep me posted.... check out Theadventuresoflolo channel she press shadow and has recipes on her channel...
Beauty By Bredice Yes, I knew you were the one who commented. Your comment was the reason I realized they were too powdery, and made the video correcting the problem. Thank you, I will check that video out. I will revise the description to include the recipe for the bases I used. I didn't think the TKB pre made mix was any better than the 2 bases I formulated myself. Thanks for everything. Your comments have been helpful. The reason I made the shadows without the powder base was, I had seen several other youtube diy ' s and they didn't use it. There isn't enough instructional video out there on mineral make up IMO. That's why I'm trying to share what I'm learning.
