Griffin Armament, when are you guys gonna get an Explorr 224 taper mount over to Pew Science for testing? I would love to see the full sound characteristics/behavior of this can as soon as possible!
Probably never. The cost is phenomenal, and higher for Griffin Armament than for every other customer I have spoken to. The pricing bias alone indicates strong likelihood of bias in the results of the reviews which are often largely driven in their outcomes by the commentary. The fact that OSS cans are portrayed as leading is itself revelatory of the total gaps in the method overall. Go watch the Iraq Veteran 8888 Flow 556K video test, and look at those numbers and tell yourself the method that calls that performance leading is relevant.
How was the flash under nods? I got an HRT that's been in jail for a while now. It was supposed to go on a specific night fighting pistol build, but... well, you know, the ATF happened. So, I was doing a 13.9 P&W build. The HRT doesn't accept any of their larger muzzle devices, so the build is impossible. I'm looking at a throwing a DL5 or explorr 224 on the pile. I think the explorr will attach sans Dual-lok, but I'm not sure. Man I can't stand how oppressive our government is getting.
Griffin>Dead Air. All honesty the dual lock vs the xeno is not even a fair comparison. Direct thread to a locking collar is just the way to go especially for any sort or duty use.
Great video! Which muzzle device(s) were used for the 3 cans? I assume all the rest (gas block, BCG, buffer and charging handle) remained constant. Thank you!
We used the devices shown on the unsuppressed shots for the Griffin cans, and the Dead Air muzzle brake for the Sierra 5. The Muzzle brake will provide the best flash reduction performance for silencers, contrary to what people would think. The flash hider does nothing for sound or flash inside a silencer.
what about the larger dual chamber brakes like their paladin model? would that offer any extra advantages or possible disadvantages or remain constant?@@austingreen3888
I’m still going with dead air bc they’re the most customer oriented suppressor company in the industry. Mike is the man and I know I can trust their products to save my life.
We bought two products- one has customer service issues with the mount. That's 50% for batting 100% in our very small case study. I think that's a low bar for trusting a product with your life.
Love to hear an update. Deadairs amazing customer support apparently went to crap after the Sierra 5 issues. Dozens of pages on ARFcom with customer service ghosting people for broken cans. Deadair is refusing a recall.
@@newerest1 A lot of times tone is used as an argument by people who lose in peak sound testing. Tone was not with the Sierra 5. It had average or worse tone. It sounded at least as loud indoors as it metered.
