For anyone in the future who's wondering about the first 65 comments: this stream was originally 24 minutes longer and featured a very entertaining technical malfunction because DBD released a mandatory patch just before they went live. They all had to think on their feet, and we got to see them rise to the challenge as it happened. Then they cut that part out. I think they were embarrassed and share "all the national hatred of making a scene."

This was such an unfortunate but hilarious opening to the stream. I hope they don't trim it (though as of now it's still intact). Poor Ellen. Between her internet limitations and the fact that her system regularly overheats in the warmer months, it's kind of amazing things usually run as smoothly as they do. 😅

Fun fact from someone who used to work on the Xbox team at Microsoft: Most software patches are released on Thursday morning (Pacific standard time) because there are relatively few people playing video games and the most Microsoft employees on the clock that can care of any emergencies that pop up.

The names for the bad guys are not random or game specific they are canonical names, Michael Meyers was known as "The Shape" in the ending credits to Halloween and Pyramid Head is an "Executioner" from Silent Hill.

I had a similar thing happen regarding my job. I am a broadband internet installer. And last Monday about a half hour after we all got to our first jobs. And some one reset the website we use to track our jobs for the day. Meaning that when that happened all the techs lost all their jobs for that day. And we had to wait a hour for it to come back up. And I was just about done with that job

if i remember correctly this is not the first time games have ruined oxboxtra live stream hallowstream attempts with patches right before they are ready to go for a livestream but they handled it well. great to see them all together for a hallowstream and enjoyed seeing both views of the killer and survivors

Missed it live so catching up, yes, this is why I pay Patreon for you guys. The live dreaming segment and patching process was great :D Regards Mike's idea for a zombie, many years ago, one of the universities in America ran a publicly accessible alien life simulation. You could create a creature using different bits and set it loose in the virtual world where it would interact with other people's creatures. You could watch it live by logging in and get email updates about your creature's life.

This Dead by Daylight stream was one of the best streams involving all of oxbox and xtra together that i have ever seen. Kudos to them all it had everything, technical difficulties, hilarious fails, Mike's corpse blindness, Ellen's bossing it, etc. Cant thank you lot enough for the utter entertainment within. DBD drops updates on Tuesdays normally the bugfix today was a rare one they wanted to push before the weekend. it's equal parts adorable and frustrating to watch newer players play DBD adorable because it's great seeing new players having fun, frustrating because I have thousands of hours in the game and can't share any of that knowledge
