Don't know why people miss the big picture. My wife and I work damn hard all year, and save hard for one fabulous thing per year. This band is a celebration of life - of people we love getting close to the end, and loving the here and now. I'm 61 - almost 5 decades with Bob Weir, and whatever company he keeps. We will love Jerry forever, but this is a damn wild celebration of the music. John belongs here to his core. I love it, and can't wait for my 4 day weekend in Las Vegas, in June.
Amen! I’m sick of folks who piss in other people’s Cheerios. I firmly believe comparison is the thief of joy. I too am doing a weekend of the shows in June and am so stoked! Enjoy this wonderful opportunity and experience with your wife!
I was there (I think). Heavy dose and it was like taking my hat off, placing my brain into it, handing it to them and saying "do with this as you see fit, good sirs". To which they replied..."ok...watch this..."
That shit is steeeeep up top. Be careful. I almost didn't eat mine. If you are in a lower level, then it's much better....but eat them for sure. I was glad I did.☺️
Thank you so much for capturing this. I was completely overwhelmed on the night by the music and visuals. Watching it again brings back so many happy memories of two incredible nights.
Nothing is good enough for people today. Sounds great when im at shows I dance my ass off with my eye's closed. Be happy you still here this live. I would loved to be here awesome stuff!!!!!
Bobby’s vocal timing rushes the end of too many key lines where Jerry had paused to add emotional weight to the end of the line. Stunning space and moment though no doubt.
God.. how I wish I could go to this wonderful show. It's a shame that our currency is so devalued. We pay 5x more than our northern brothers. Congratulations to those who went and had this incredible experience.
Saw Dead & Co summer 2022 at Pine Knob and it was a beautiful little scene. Main Street was just big enough to be interesting and fun, not overwhelming and sad like in VA . DK why they didn’t come back last year. 🙁 Still, great to see them anywhere we can. ✌️
Can’t wait to see Dead and Company in June! Here’s a different perspective for the folks who are being critical: these guys still actually sing and play live…no backing tracks like other older bands out touring these days. Peace and love y’all.
I'm sorry. I can't believe anyone would be disappointed. The Electrical Engineering and IT Science that went into the construction was groundbreaking. Sorry if the mechanism looks a bit weird but in sense got us to colonize Mars, from an astoundingly visual perspective.
Wow..need real bears on paper to enhance their visual effects..guess sphere got own creative development for their LED'S..at first i was asking how tiny was stage b4 zoomed in looked like 12ft×25' lol..now at end looks 40×30..still small for venue that seats idk how many..guess 12000+ and i dont think these were true nosebleed seats😂, take look at acdc stage size..tour started 3 days ago..europe leg. Only good pyro is at very end. Hope you and family are well. Hugs to all!
@@theebluess oh yea! You’re correct. He definitely is using the green 594. I just assumed he was using the silver sky like he has been for the first two shows and all last summer. Other than an his acoustic, I don’t remember him using anything other than his Silver Sky last summer. Maybe wrong though.
Beautiful. Nevermind i cant afford. Bobby and company get PAID good. Thats what matters. Thanks for recording. Dead forever. They deserve this financial peak. Nevermind the salty poors
I have to be honest, I try to be open to new ideas but I find this incredibly gimmicky and cheesy. The novelty of the big screen wears off quickly and then it becomes a distraction from the music. This whole residency feels like a very packaged product, just another Vegas tribute act to see on your vacation. The Grateful Dead is best experienced outdoors in the summer, twirling under the stars, not a giant LED screen. I love this band and I understand not being able to tour full time, but I wish they were doing a run of shows literally anywhere else.
I understand you’re feeling. As a traveler of hundreds of shows in the most amazing places what you say has some merit. I will say however the Dead have always been ahead of the curve sonically and visually and once again proving they still are . I can see how the sensory overload can become annoying for it’s the music that brings us keeps us and will live forever. That said I wish I was at sphere to experience it
@tobysshades again it sounded slow like half speed and lethargetic . Seemed like a struggle Guess that's what you get from guys their 80s. Many people have said this about the tempo
I had hopped the band wouldn’t go in this direction or any band for that matter. Vegas, nostalgia act, very high ticket prices, nothing new. Ugh. Sad. I have to look away.
Am I the only one completely let down by the visuals? A slideshow of memories of the band that isn't playing, with 2 living members not a part, is not high level graphic design. Remember android jones doing fare thee well? 100x better, why on earth did they decide early 2000s winamp graphics are next level? Fuck sake I have an app on my phone thats a liquid visualizer drawing app that spits out more engaging stuff EDIT: seeing it live didn't change this feeling. However Bob's interview explaining technical challenges did
@@gkubrickprobably the same reason i am. The music means so much that i have to at least try to understand, but I’m l;et down and frustrated every time I listen to these guys. Pack it in already, they’re tainting their legacy.
