Dead Ford Mustang Mach E 12 volt battery? BCM replacement diagnosis Electrical System Drain Service
In this video I show you the steps involved to diagnose and fix a Dead or Bad 12v accessory battery on a Ford Mach E and F150 Lightning. In my case it was a bad cell withing the 12v battery that was not allowing the battery to charge.
If you have any questions feel free to leave it in the comments below. I'd be glad to help if possible.

A very good report on why dependability in vehicles is the most important quality. Can't go to work, have to arrange alternate transportation, towing fees and if you don't have the knowledge of this video producer, you have a major life problem that is out of your control.

@@MoreBear Update: The dealership service department said that they didn’t know what it was and that they tested the 12v battery and it’s taking and holding a charge. Today rolls around and I get a message from ford pass and on my display in the car that says “Restraint indicator lamp warning”. I am over Ford.

@@hifromkate yep, got my car towed to the only dealer in the city that had a battery left. Fixed it right up. 3 days later, car stopped working again and now it says it's the high voltage battery which is likely that high voltage junction box issue. Gonna get towed in again tomorrow....

@@MarkCampbell83 thanks for your reply. So frustrating! Just ridiculous. I decided to jump mine today. But with a battery pack, not another car. Applied jumpers, pushed start button, but forgot to step on brake pedal but somehow dash reported powered up accessories. Didn't realize I that I had not started the car so disconnected the battery pack. Got in and tried to put in reverse and it wouldn't go. Then started the car without an issue by stepping on the break and hitting the button again. Don't understand why that worked! Did check the battery before I did anything and it was at 11.7 volts. I am calling the dealership tomorrow to see what they recommend. My claim with the Ford customer care people only recommends bring it to a dealer. They don't seem to want to address all the complaints that I brought up from my research.

I thought there would be a video or demo instead of a voiceover on an almost-photo. BUT... it got a little exciting near the end when the Ontario license plate that was blurred became unblurred.

What dashcam did you have? The Fitcamx runs off of the rain sensor under the mirror, and is switched off when the power is off. Of course, this means no recording when the car is not on.

this exact scenario is happening with my 2023 Mach E. I bought it in Sep, battery dead in Nov and battery replaced after transported to dealer early December. Now after leaving outside for a few weeks without driving - at airport - i was able to jump it and drive 2 hours home. I used the car two days later - 1 hour drive to and from store and that was on Thursday - now this morning it is dead again - the car itself was 100% charged. Have you had further issues after the BCM and HJV were replaced? Thanks for any info. Thanks for your videos.

So latest is my car has been in the shop for over a week now. I was supposed to get it back Friday after they found the audio control module, ACM, was drawing 995 milliamps instead of 10 milliamps which was what was killing my battery. But when they went to load the new software on the ACM they hit a wall. It will not load. So since Friday the technician has been working with and reaching out to the engineers higher up in Ford. Today's word was Ford text and engineers need to come up with new software to get the ACM to load. No idea how long it's going to be or how long I'm going to be without my car. Any suggestions from anyone regarding lemon law or compensation for being without my car? I do have a rental and they are paying for gasoline.
@MoreBear
@MoreBear 7 месяцев назад
Wow, that's not ideal. I hope they get you a fix soon. At least Ford is providing a rental in the meantime. Unfortunately I cannot provide you with any further info. Thanks for the update and please keep us posted.

Anyone know why Ford told me the high voltage battery doesn't maintain the 12v battery (which apparently is true) when this is a direct contradiction of the quote from my users manual? CHARGING THE 12V BATTERY Your vehicle has a high voltage to low voltage energy transfer feature that keeps the 12 volt battery charged by the high voltage battery. If the 12 volt battery level is low, the high voltage battery transfers energy to the 12 volt battery when the vehicle is off.
@MoreBear
@MoreBear 8 месяцев назад
I haven't heard that before. I know that if the high voltage battery is below a certain state of charge, it will no longer maintain the 12v battery (I have seen this info in forums I just can't find it at the moment). If anyone else can answer, please jump in. Thanks for the question and for watching!

It can happen when the car sits idle in the dealership for a long time, the 12v battery suffers. Try letting an ICE car off for a year, there is a high chance of the battery losing charge.

I am currently locked out of my car and can’t get the frunk open. I need to get into the car without breaking my window so I can get my belongings off the front seat (purse, medication and iPad)
@MoreBear
@MoreBear 9 месяцев назад
You will need a booster pack to get in. The cables to hook the booster pack to are under an access panel on the front bumper under the front left headlight (if looking at the front of the car). Once the booster pack is turned on it will open the frunk. Once in the frunk you will need to remove the cover panels on the right side to access the 12v battery. After that you can boost the 12v battery to access the vehicle. Let me know how everything goes please. I'm curious about yours and others issues with the Mach E. I hope everything works out. Thanks for watching and the question.
