These older 7.3L diesels are worth 100% MORE than the EPA garbage choked crap the Big-3 are selling now at $80k or more. The fact you found a GOOD one AND it's a manual transmission is even better. 🙌
AMEN. I could not agree more. I paid 1500 for my welding truck and couldn’t be happier. I probably only have 5k in it and it’s waaaay better than a new piece of junk I could buy new.
My '94 IDI Turbo is one of my favorite trucks. AND it'll blow the doors off of a first gen Powerstroke. It's straight piped and THE BEST sounding diesel EVER! And I'm a CUMMINS NUT.😊 Put a Holley RED pump on it, BYPASS the factory lift pump. WAY easier to prime the system, especially after changing fuel filter(s). International IDIs will NOT start unless you have a functioning glow plug system or plug in the block heater. I don't care if it's 90 degrees outside. Starting fluid KILLS these things. The glow pluds (if they're working) can ignite it and fire all of the cyliders at one time. It can break rings and give it that lopey starting noise your getting due to low compress from those broken ring cyliders etc.
These Holley green and red pumps are news to me. This turbo truck is surprisingly peppy, I can’t wait to put the turbo on my f250. Yeah, it’s been cold here so it has not helped the probably no glow plug working factor.
O’Reillys ☘️ carry’s them . I know most other places will as well just don’t know if in stock. They have treated me well. Follow directions and don’t run 20 year old varnish like I did and you will be fine .
I know absolutely nothing about cars. Any questions I have I ask my brother as he is a mechanic. I don’t know how you stumbled on my feed but man I’m so glad you did. You had me laughing the whole time. I’m looking forward to watching your past and new videos! Liked and subscribed!
sad seeing trucks like these get used for parts but can’t blame you probably not worth the resto and will be nice for your truck and future projects i love this channel keep up the work your getting me through my sick day rn 😂
Glad it have helped! Hope you’re feeling better. It’s a lot more valuable for me to make my truck better. It will be a good parts truck for a long time.
Never load ether in an old IDI. It bends valves and potentially rods. That's why it kept locking as it was cranking. I wanted to reach through the screen and take the can out of your hand as I was watching.
Now all you need is either a smoke stack up through the bed with a 10 inch tip, or just add a large coffee can size tailpipe paired with a set of ridiculously wide oversized rims wrapped in rubber bands.
International Harvester IDI (from Indirect Injection) engine is a four-stroke diesel V8 engine used in International Harvester school buses, trucks, Ford F-Series pickups, and Ford E-Series vans from the 1983 to 1994 model years. The engine was built in two displacements: 420 cubic inches (6.9 L), which was used in Ford trucks from 1983 until 1987, and 444 cubic inches (7.3 L), which was used in Ford trucks from 1988 until 1994 (naturally aspirated) and in 1993 and 1994 (turbocharged).
Makes me wish I had never sold my 93 F250! The old turbo diesel was awesome! I drove that truck for 15+ years and only sold it when my knee's started giving me trouble and it hurt to push the clutch. I never hooked on to anything that the truck would not move!
Oh man how I wish I could have a truck like this to make my own videos on. I mean, ive got my ranger, but most of the stuff i could make videos on aren’t worth it. But I think im gonna help you guys get to a wider audience by subscribing. Not only was the intro entertaining but the first few minutes are also entertaining
It's sooooo unfair how ALL the trucks you buy have custom front and rear bumpers!! 🤣 What a deal! Glad to see you guys could get it running and moving. Don't blame you for parting it out. Engine sounds *tired* for sure. Hope you and Zane are doing well. Happy wrenching fellas 🔧🔩
Not sure about those rear hubs but those rear calipers are on the the wrong side which is why the bleeder screws were at the top. It should be at the bottom which means the left side needs to be put on the right side.
Without watching the rest of the video, the newer Ford wheels and disc brakes in the back make me wonder if someone did an axle swap at some point to Super Duty axles
Might be a mid year of 93 if it has a turbo, 94 I think was the only time the idi 7.3 had a turbo. Pretty rare to see them now. That rear end is out of an 2005 and newer superduty, they're actually wider than even the 99-04's and is the reason the hub looks so short on it. I wonder if they planned on doing the front coil spring dana 60 front axle set up as well? And with the reliability of the ole idi that would be a sweet rig
Vacuum pump is thst sound u hear and the rear I probably 8x170 and put a 4 inch exhaust on it will sound good and put a bit of atv in the tank will lube Injectors so no knocking
Maybe when your son grows up you can tell him about Harry Chapin. He sung and wrote "Cats in the Cradle" That song is about him and his son growing up. I tell my 3 boys to pass that song on to their boys. Just a suggestion. If ya get some time listen to that song. Thank you for the video.
Oh I know that song all too well. Gets me right in the feels. Only difference is I always want to give my children time. It’s hard to appreciate the moment, time is never enough.
At some point that rearend has been changed the 93 didnt come with rear disc brakes i have a 95 f250 with drum brakes and a 1 ton rear factory. That rearend has been changed to a later model at some point
@@thatbluebricknose not one that early ...the 92 thru early 96 came with rear drum brakes ..the rear disc brakes and 8x170 lug pattern came after the 96 model yr my 95 f250 xlhd has 1 ton towing package with drum brakes thats a 92 model with a late model rear end
yeah it sounds like a miss out the exhaust and my idi doesnt hardly smoke at all even cold like this one does it probably need an injector or something
Had a guy try again last week to buy my 95 f350 7.3 crewcab long bed dually and had to tell him NO thank you but NO, I don't even have 190,000 on it and I couldn't replace it for 20,000 so no thanks
TC Finds OBS Ford F350 Crew Cab 7.3 Diesel Clean up the Truck New Paint Job and New Leather seats and New Wheels and Tires New Bumper and Back Bumper Led Headlights and Tail lights put Cab light on the Truck ????????
The wheel don't fot cause that's a 05 and up rear end. It's 8 on 170 bolt pattern not 8 on 6.5. Watching you guys butcher that was pretty sad to see. You can see clearly it won't fit. Also put ot in 4x4 I wanna see you blow up the transfer case. Gonna be great when you find the front is a 4.110 and thar tear is a 3.73. 😅😂
i would say something no i wont waste breath waste effort was my thought process trying process you got your work cut out you could swap it not sure your intent but um few rollback and other none lifted piles are cheaper my thing is yes get old mobil home frame build car trailer bumper pull then worth it
Yeah I agree, take trailer and make truck lift with 37’s go better swapped and probably change over to ramp with the turbo should wake up better for the fuel. Probably parting it out though.
@@tcfinds I really hate that for the guy. was this recently? Y’all may have a new viewer tho if that’s the case. I think I see him on a thumbnail from 2 weeks ago
@@roxastherogue last week actually. We didn’t like how he made the vids, funded, operated, provided the property, bought the cars or did anything. So I told him it was time to part ways.
@@Whitetrash_Customs yes I use it on most the cars I flip to sale. People love the smoke grey it’s made by rust oleum u get it by the gallon for 50 bucks
